"You don't know that that's about me," I tell Luke.

"Who else would it be about?" He scoffs.

"So you're saying it's my fault Ashton stopped talking? I didn't do anything wrong! I just stopped visiting because he wasn't getting any better and I needed to distance myself from him!"

"He was getting better until Michael visited."

"Well I don't know what Michael said so I can't help in this situation." I roll my eyes.

"You live with Michael. You can ask him any day any time. It's not that hard, Heather."

"Luke we shouldn't be fighting about this. We work together now we have to get along. We always did before," I inform him.

"Yes I know. I'm sorry I'm just a little bit stressed," he lets out a deep breath, running his fingers though his hair.

"It's ok I understand."

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in," Luke says.

"Hello Dr. Hemmings, Dr. Smith," wow being called a doctor was weird, "Ashton is here for his session. Shall I send him in?"

"Yes please. Thank you Sam. Heather will you get a dry erase board and marker from the closet over there?"

"Sure."

I walk to the back of the room and tense up as I hear Ashton enter the room. I turn to look at him, sulking in and sitting down. With his back to me, I grab the board and marker. I walk up past him and hand it to him.

"Here you go, Ashton," I say with a slight smile. He looks up at me and his eyes go wide, then into a glare. I sit I the chair next to Luke.

What is she doing here?!?! Ashton writes.

"She is my new assistant. She went to uni after she was released 4 years ago," Luke informs him.

I don't want her here. Make her leave.

"I can't do that Ashton I'm sorry," Luke says.

Fine. But I'm not talking while she's in here. I hate her.

My heart stings at the words written on his board. He hates me?

"Why is that Ashton? Why do you hate Heather?"

She knows what she did.

"Is this because I stopped visiting you?" I asked.

No

"Then what is it?"

Michael told me what happened. You can stop playing dumb. He rolls his eyes.

I look at Luke and he looks at me, sighing.

"You need to talk to Michael as soon as possible," he whispers and I nod.

"So Ashton how have you been feeling?" Luke asks.

Fine

"That's good. Have you talked to any one?"

No

"Expressed anything in art?"

A little bit yeah

"That's good. Can we see some?"

If she leaves.

"Ashton she can't leave. She works here now you just have to accept that. Now please, let us see some of your art work," Luke tells him as he walks to the back of the room and opens a cabinet pulling out a few papers.

I drew this a week ago

It was a picture of a girl falling. That was it. She was just falling into a black abyss.

"Who is this supposed to be?" Luke asks.

Heather.

"Why?" I ask.

Because you left me. You left me for him.

"W-what? Who?" I ask confused.

You know who don't act stupid. I gave you 4 years of my life. I was always so excited when you would come then you had to go and leave me for him. Leaving me like this.

I just sat there, not knowing what to say.

"Ok Ashton that's enough for today," Luke says standing up from his seat, "I'll see you tomorrow for group therapy."

Ashton nods as his guard, Sam, takes him back to his cell. Luke sits down at his desk and runs his fingers through his hair.

"What did you do?" He asks me.

"What?!" I exclaim.

"You obviously did something."

"I didn't do anything, Luke. I stopped coming because he wasn't getting better. There was no reason to keep visiting if he wasn't going to get better. It would just hurt both of us," I sigh.

"How would it hurt both of you?"

I scoff, "Luke I'm not a patient here anymore. You can't just ask me questions like your my therapist. I'm your assistant now."

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just nothing is adding up," he groans.

"I know. I thought me coming here would make things better for him. I thought I'd be able to talk to him and help him. Like old times, ya know?"

"I understand. I thought of that too actually. He hasn't even been having any episodes lately. I don't think he's had any mood swings or signs of MPD in a while. He just seems depressed. Like his depression is taking up everything in his body."

I sigh, looking down at the ground, "I will talk go Michael as soon as I get home and figure out what he told him."

"Ok good. Oh, me and Diamond are going to the diner across the street for dinner. Would you like to join us?"

"No thanks. I'm actually cooking dinner tonight! Maybe some other time though," I smile as we both pick up our stuff to leave for the day.
