Chapter 14: Star light, Star Birght...

Daryl was busy working on the truck with Amber who was giving him a hand. "Can ya pass us that rentch over there..?" Daryl had her fetch and carry small things just to keep her occupid. "Ta"

Amber watched him slide back under the car before turning back to a pile of junk she was sorting. 

"Daryl.."

"yeah?"

"where's the alternator gone?" Amber looked around confused "I swear it was just here..."

Daryl stopped what he was doing and lend over the betch where amber was standing "'ere.." bumping into her as he turned around "sorr'.." Daryl blushing almost passed her the spare part. "..You still determind to come with us?"

"Yeah. I'm not gunna change my mind!" raising her eyebrows at him

"Didn't think you would," he said smiling at her.

"he's bound to have figured it out by now... that I'm not in the sanctuary anymore, this is the first place he'll come looking for me..." Amber lend around him putting the spare part back in its place. "You know it's not gunna be safe here, for either of us now..." Amber look up at Daryl who agreed.

"Mm, I know.." He pulled her closer. 

Ambers heart raced faster than ever as she leaned in closer her left check almost brushing passed his lips before taking a step back, killing the tension of that moment. "We should leave, we've already been here too long..."

"The Hilltop should be safe enough. Maggie's there, we could stay ther..."

"No... Paul said Gregory isn't to be trusted. I think he's right. Besides ...I got a better idea."

While Jesus made his way to The Hilltop Amber, Daryl & Ku set off with camping equipment and Daryl's bike in the back of Ambers truck.

"Me & Ku use to stay up here alot.. It's safe most of the time from pretty much anything" Amber sat back giving Daryl directions to her old campsite where she & Ku stayed the majority of their time out in the wood. "we kind of used it as a base.. still got some of my gear there."

Rick and others reach The Kingdom, Shiva and Ezekeil welcome them. Ezekiel kisses Michonne's hand and she quickly jerks it back, Ezekiel is outraged. Michonne pulls her sword on Ezekiel, who does the same. Rick tells them to put their weapons down, to which Ezekiel replies that he only wanted to see whose sword was bigger. Ezekiel then leads the group inside and puts Shiva in her cage in his bedroom.

Ezekiel leads the group to the cafeteria, which has many more survivors inside. During the group feast, Michonne leaves and goes outside to the balcony. Ezekiel appears and starts a conversation about Shiva, and how he saved her life from fatal bleeding. Michonne starts to show interest in him and they reintroduce themselves to each other. Ezekiel then leaves and wishes Michonne a good night.

Amber and Daryl sitting by a camp fire eating squirl.

"Promised Rick I'd stop by tomorrow when he gets back from DC... Finalize plans"

Amber looked up asking "...What happens when Negan catches him? What then..?" concerned that Rick hadn't properly thought things through.

"I don't know. I dont think he's thought that far ahead.... sure he'll think of something." He continued eating.

Amber let out a big sigh and lay back on the grass, watching the stars twinkle and shine... "Do you ever wonder what life would be like if all this hadn't of happened, the dead walking I mean..." Still staring up wards.
