Recollection (kinda on a sorta hiatus)

Car ride

|Chapter 9|

             When he pulled away I just looked him in the eyes, I was absolutely speechless. A wide smile spread across my face, I just kind of started to giggle. "What are you laughing at Bella?" He looked at me with a confused smile. 

"You, I never realized how much I missed you. I guess I kind of shoved it in the back of my mind." I told him very quietly. 

"I have had to live all this time missing you because you were the only person that ever showed me compassion. I get how that is, I remember every word you ever spoke to me. We shared everything with each other." He had sat me down on the bench on my front porch. 

"So you really do know everything about me, and I knew everything about you?" He shook his head and pulled me down to look at the stars. I couldn't tell you how long we stayed there like that, but once it started to get really cold I decided I should go inside and let him get home. 

"Promise me you will call when you get home Caden." I whispered to him when he hugged me goodnight. 

"I promise Bells I will call you." He kissed the top of my head and went to his car. I looked to the bench and saw he left his hoodie, he had taken it off and put it over me. He turned and waved, he waited for me to go inside before he pulled away. I went up to my room and changed into some comfy shorts, and put on his hoodie. Even when it is freezing outside I always keep my room super cold. Just as I slipped into bed I got a phone call from Caden. I smiled to myself and pressed the green accept button. 

"Hiii." I said in a sleepy voice. 

"You sound tired, i'm home sugar but get some sleep okay love?" 

"Stay with me pleaseee." I pleaded with him like a child. 

"Okay Bells i'll stay till' you fall asleep." I fell asleep in a matter of a few minutes. I had a dream about us, we were just sitting in the back of his pickup truck watching the stars. I woke up hours later from the sound of the doorbell. I grabbed my phone off the charger and sulked down the stairs. I reached the door and looked out the peephole to see Caden, I instantly perked up and opened the door. 

"Hey Caden what's up?" I asked him as I invited him in. 

"I left my hoodie here last night, I see you found it though." He chuckled and walked up to me. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on my neck. 

"Do you want it back, I mean it's yours so.?" I felt him shake his head. 

"No, you look better in it than I ever did." He kissed the top of my head and twirled me around. 

"Aww thank you." I lifted my head up and looked at him. 

"Do you want to do something today?" We stood in the kitchen while he looked at me intently waiting for an answer. 

"Yeah sure that sounds great what do you suggest we do?" 

"How do you feel about hikes?" He suggested and I swear my eyes lit up like stars in a night sky. 

"I love hikes I wish I could go on more than I do but i'm the only one who likes to." 

"So that's a yes?" He asked me with bright eyes. I shook my head up and down so excitedly. 

"Let me get dressed and i'll be right down." I ran upstairs and threw on some joggers and a different hoodie and walked downstairs. 

"Do you want me to bring some water bottles?" I walked to the pantry and grabbed myself a granola bar and tossed one at him. 

"Thanks and yeah that would be a good idea." I grabbed two big water bottles from the cupboard and filled them up. I grabbed my phone and a bag with my wallet and house key. We got in his car and drove off to the hiking trail. 

"Did you ever go hiking with anyone? I mean you said no one liked to go but you loved to." He seemed reluctant. 

"Umm my dad actually. He left when my mom got sick, he didn't think it was worth it to have to take care of my mom and I." He just looked at me for me to go on. 

"For sickness and in health, till' death do you part. You freaking vow by that and he walked away. He made me scared to get married you know? I done want to get left like she did. I'm sorry I shouldn't dump this on you." 

"It's okay umm my mom left my brother and I after my dad died, just me and him ya know? I get it in a way." I kinda laughed a nervous forced laugh. 

"Oh, i'm sorry I didn't know, now I feel bad." He held my hand 

"For another time? I don't want you to feel bad or upset I want us to have a good time." I nodded and he pulled me close to him. The hiking trail was actually pretty far from my house so we had time to talk.
