Recollection (kinda on a sorta hiatus)

Awkward

|Chapter 10|

                  "So what's your brother like? If you don't mind me asking." I sparked up a conversation as we had been silent for a little and we were at a long light. 

"Well he is actually the sweetest thing after everything we have been through, I think it is because he knows how it feels to be hurt and disappointed and he doesn't want anyone to feel that way. He is only 14, I still watch after him." I felt a slight smile appear on my face. 

"He sounds really lovely, I would love to meet him sometime if it's okay with you." I grinned up at him with hopeful eyes like a child asking for a toy. I think he could tell how much it meant to me because he blew out a long breathe and put his head on mine and nodded. 

"Really??" I asked with excitement and question in my tone. He pressed his forehead to mine and smiled. 

"Yes, I think he will love you and it sounds like a good idea." I gave him a little peck on the lips and we took off. We arrived at the hiking trail quicker than I had expected. We got out of the truck, grabbed our bags and headed off on the trail. We danced around, took pictures and overall just had a great time. We made it to the end of the trail and I sat down and soaked up the view, it isn't something I get to see a lot lately. 

"Thank you so much for this Caden, I really needed something like this." I smiled to myself, the hike making me think only good things. 

"It is my pleasure Bells. What I am here for, I want to make you happy please remember that when you need it." He said as he sat next me and took hold of my hand. 

"I haven't realized how much I missed you throughout these past years. Why did we stop talking?" I looked at him while he thought of an answer. 

"I think we drifted as you got into some different stuff and while you started taking care of your mom." He explained what I had forgot, I had been so consumed with getting good grades and taking care of my mom and myself I turned off every memory from before high school. 

"I'm sorry I never meant to, I shut myself off and never did anything I'm a senior and I have never been to a high school party." I scanned his face to see how he reacted, he extended an arm to me and brought our lips together. It was a short yet sweet reassuring kiss. Caden Winters made me feel like I had a purpose and that is so important. I had never been more happy than when I was with him. We just sat and gazed into each others eyes until we felt we should head back into town. 

"How do you feel about going to lunch with my brother and I when we get back?" He asked me while we walked down the steep hill holding hands so we don't fall. 

"On one condition and then I would love to." I stopped him in his track and he laughed at me. 

"And what s this condition you have for me?" He asked putting his arms around my waist. 

"You give me a piggyback ride because my feet hurt and i'm tired." I advised to him with a pouty lip. He shook his head, handed me his bag and motioned for me to get on his back. I burst out laughing but went with it, I honestly didn't expect him to go through with this. 

"You're great you know that right?" I questioned him whilst laughing. I wrapped my arms around his neck being careful not to choke him, and nuzzled my face in his neck. 

"Eh you'll always be the best." He murmured thinking I wouldn't hear him. I took being this high up to my advantage and grabbed some leaves and flowers off of trees to remember this day. Today was such a beautiful day and I got to spend it with a great guy. After what seemed like less than it took to get to the top we were at the entrance of the trail. 

"Thank you I didn't think you would actually take me the whole way." I playfully poked him in his stomach, suddenly realizing how hard his stomach was. 

"What can I say I want you to meet my brother again. He probably hasn't forgot you but I think you have." He held his arms out for me to come hug him, I slowly walked into his comforting embrace. Spinning around so his back was facing the trail and spun out of his embrace yelling 'Last one to the car is a rotten egg!!' and took off towards the truck. 

He ran after me once he realized what I was doing and caught up too me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and spun around with me. 

"Oh, you shouldn't have done that" He whispered playfully in my ear. "Noo. Caden. Let. Me. Go." I was saying in between laughs trying to be serious. He wouldn't budge but he carried me to his car and put me in the seat. He has carried me twice today, he has to be pretty strong. Once he got in the car I blurted it out. 

"Do you work out?" I covered my mouth once it came out realizing my mouth was faster than my brain. 

"Yeah, I guess I mean I go to the gym, why?" I just blushed like crazy and figured I had to explain myself. 

"Well, first you just carried me twice, second when I was poking your stomach it was hard. Well that was awkward." I squeaked and stared down at my hands curious as to what he would say at my comment. I heard him snicker, 

"Not to bad, anyway c'mon you really noticed?" He inquired. I dared to look up and plead for him to look at me. 

"Yeah, how couldn't I? We have practically been close since yesterday, literally." I could practically feel him beaming, I just ignored him.

A/N

Hey guys that was chapter 10, It might be harder for me to write and publish. I will try to once a week at least! School starts for me tomorrow and i'm not really looking forward to it. I also and trying to start another book that may or may not go up on here. I have been writing poetry as well. So in other words I have been very busy, not to mention i'm moving houses and we have to pack ourselves. So I decided to get this up for you guys before school starts. Also I am at 94 reads on this book as of right now!! That is honestly so amazing, I am so greatful for all of you who consistantly read as I post! I love you guys and have an amazing day.
