|Chapter 12|
"Who said we are doing something later?" I toyed with him.
"Well obviously I just did love." He whispered back at me while I just silently melted in my seat. Little pet names like that just killed me, it's always how I have been I just love them. He could tell how I was feeling because he just chuckled.
I punched him in the leg under the table and he winced as I smirked. I noticed we hadn't stopped holding hands. We ordered and our food came very shortly after. I pulled my hand away from his and started to eat. The food was amazing and I would probably force him to take me here again.
I couldn't help but notice the not so discreet glances he was taking at me. I tried to ignore them but that was impossible. I didn't tell him but I'd do anything with him any day, as long as it was with him. He was my ray of sunshine on my darkest of days and I had a lot of those.
I guess I went into my own little world because I didn't know what they were talking about. So decided to quietly come back and pay attention.
They were talking about me in between random brother things. I heard him say something about his though how they missed him. I squeezed Caden's hand softly under the table to tell him I'm here. I finished eating and leaned my head on him, he wrapped his arm around me and payed the check.
"Thank you for lunch."
"You're welcome love." We didn't leave right away though, we all sat and talked. I felt at home, like that was where I belonged. Caden and I were in similar situations the only difference is that I had my mother but she was too sick to take care of me.
Caden took us into the woods somewhat behind his apartment building. He told us he always went to a certain spot when he wanted to get away. I was holding Caden's hand as well as Isaac's we made a train kind of thing.
"Close your eyes." and we did as we said because we trusted him with our lives. That's what I did with him I put my whole world in his hands and hoped he wouldn't drop it. We stayed at the spot in the woods until it started to get dark, yet no one said a single word. Silence has never been so calming to me.
I have never felt so content with myself than in that moment. All of the sudden it just started pouring down rain, like always. The boys wanted to run out of the wood and get out of the rain, but I wanted to stay.
They got up and Caden took my hand, "Dance with me!" I yelled through the rain and leaves. He gave me a look of bewilderment before agreeing. All problems aside all three of us danced to silence. The quote,
'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's learning how to dance in the rain' I understood it more and more each day in my life. This moment took me back to just a day ago when we had our first date, the night everything came flooding back. We danced like we never danced before. Isaac stood awkwardly while Caden and I danced. I danced over to Isaac and brought Caden with me, and we all had fun.
The rain had lightened up and we made our way out of the woods and to his apartment. The two boys changed and Caden gave me some a pair of his joggers and a t-shirt.
"Do you guys want to watch a movie?" Isaac offered bringing out a container of dvds.
"Yeah sure whatcha got?" I walked to him and looked through the options. Caden joined coming behind me wrapping his arms around my waist.
I smiled to myself and continued looking, holding one of his hands. We all ended up agreeing on Insidious, and made a bag of popcorn. Everyone piled onto the couch a blanket over the three of us. I reached over to Caden for his hand and rested into his side.
"Thank you for the dry clothes by the way." I whispered just loud enough for him to hear. He kissed my forehead indicating a you're welcome. I jumped a couple times and everytime he would chuckle at me.
"Stop laughing at me!" I howled in between laughs.
"Alright, alright I'm messin' with ya but i'll stop." He put his arms up in surrendered and pulled me closer to him. I was asleep by the time the movie ended, but I didn't wake up until about two in the morning.
I was going to flipping over when I realized I wasn't on a soft bed, I was sprawled out on Caden. I was scared I woke him up but he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. I fell back asleep almost instantly, right before he mumbled something that I didn't quite get to hear.
I woke up at eight o'clock to Caden playing with my hair and the smell of food.
"Who cooked?" I lifted my head up and looked around.
"Isaac, do you want some? It's really good." I plopped my head on his chest and shook it up and down.
"Let's go princess." He carried me into the kitchen bridal style. He put me in a chair and got me a breakfast burrito that his brother made for us.
"Looks great, thank you Isaac." He nodded at me and took his food to another room to eat.
"Um thanks for letting me stay last night." I told him as he sat down with our food.
"Anytime, you fell asleep and I just couldn't wake you. You looked too beautiful." I blushed and nodded starting to eat my food.
"How'd he learn to cook?" I made small talk in between bites of food.
"I would always bring home groceries and he came up with stuff to make. He bakes too, so much stuff."
"That's really impressive." He nodded and gave me a goofy smile I couldn't help just laughing at him.
