I walked with Michael in my black high low backless dress in my knee highs and feathery accessories wearing a black mesh sweater that went to my waist that had a hood.
"Sorry I'm late council but I was working on something with Michael."
"Glad you decided to make it Lady Risen."
I sneered in David Wheeles' direction while I stood with Michael.
"Tonight is the Jubilee," David Wheele said, "And I want to show the city something different for a change."
I leaned on the dark wall shaking my head. I knew how the Wheele family ran, they ran on fear. I shook my head.
"No David. I cannot allow you to bring an Eight Ball into the city! It would cause panic and accidents."
"Maybe that's what Vega needs, something to show them who the real enemy is out there."
"Enough!!! I can't allow you to endanger your people, nor endanger the chosen one Ally."
"Michael..Michael...Michael, be a bit more loose, I have it under control."
My father waved his hand to dismiss David Wheele's snide remark.
"Excuse me councilman Wheele but the Senator has something to say."
"Thank you Alyssa. Now as Michael was saying I vote to keep the Eight Ball out of the ceremony. All in favor say aye."
