Kin's POV
Kon and I were exhausted from all the hard work, so we decided to take a rest. Unfortunately, my phone started ringing. It was Laney calling. "Hello?" I said as I answered it. "KIN, I GOT A LETTER!" she screamed from the other side of the line. Ouch. Doesn't Laney know that she had literally just screamed into my ear? "Umm, what exactly is so special about a letter?" I asked. "It's from Corey!" she added, lowering her tone. I was shocked, and now also curious to read the letter. Maybe we could finally figure this whole situation out!

Laney's next sentence would obviously been to come over ASAP, so I was the one that said it for her instead. "We'll drop by your house now, cya then!" I quickly said, ending the call. I put my phone back into my pocket and dragged Kon downstairs. "Where are we going?" Kon asked. "To Laney's house!" I replied as we went outside. We speed-walked across the street and over to Laney's place.

Laney's POV
I heard a knock on the door and immediately went to open it. "Hey, you guys!" I said to them, welcoming them inside. We went into my room, where the letter was sitting on top of my desk. I grabbed it and sat down in the seat. Kin and Kon were each on one side of the chair, curiously looking at the letter. "Did you read it yet?" Kin asked. I shook my head. Taking a deep breath, I started to read the letter out loud.

Dear Lanes,
I'm sorry, but I'm just done with the band. It's just too much for me. Sorry for not mentioning this earlier, hope you'll understand. Please tell Kin and Kon about this too.
Your Friend,
Corey

I was shattered. My heart felt like its two halves were just torn apart, and tears started crying out of my eyes. Corey was breaking up the band? For what reason? It felt like he just didn't care about us anymore. Like he didn't care about me. This was nothing like Corey. Nothing was ever too much for him. I would never understand.

Wiping off my tears, I looked at Kin and Kon. It was obvious they were filled with anger. Furious at Corey, instead of sad like me. "What!?" Kon hollered. "If Corey's done with the band, I'm done with it too!" Kin shouted. They were going to give up that fast? I opened my mouth to protest, but the two had already left my room. Running out of my room, I looked down from the top of the stairs and I heard the front door close. I was too late. They had gone.

I returned back to my room and threw myself onto the bed. There I felt the inside of me explode into sorrow. I didn't know what to do next. It was like I had nothing. Everything just left me. All gone.
