SEVENTEEN:
flatline.

JOHN B IMMEDIATELY jumps into action and takes his bandana off "i need you to push down, okay? look this is gonna hurt but i need you to push down." he says before putting the bandana on her wound. sarah winces and john b nods "im sorry. i know, i know it hurts but we've gotta stop the bleeding." kali sits in the backseat seat quietly panicking "look we gotta take this shirt off..im gonna push down, you take the shirt off and have kali help you." he says and kali helps her.

"okay im gonna call terrance" john b says and kali holds the bandana down. sarah looks to kali and smiles sadly and kali returns the smile "you're gonna be okay sare-bear i promise..everything's gonna be fine and i have so much to tell you when you're healed" kali says nervously but smiling trying to keep sarah calm. sarah nods returning the smile and john b gets off the phone and gets out of the car. kali does they same as the two of them help sarah out.

a car pulls up as kali, john b, and sarah make their way around the car "sarah!" the woman screams as the two of them rush towards the three teens "i just texted you the address of a doctor! tell him i sent you!" the man says "okay, and it's a hospital, right?" john b asks as kali continues to help sarah to the door "no, you wanna get caught?" he says and kali starts to get irritated "who gives a shit! she needs help!" she says as her and john b help sarah into the car.

"listen sweetheart, he's better than any of the doctors in that shitcan. he's my guy. he got ya." the man says and kali runs around to the other side to get in while john b followed and hopped in the drivers seat. "we're gonna meet at the wharf in eight hours. no more. it is hot as hell out there. my guy's good. he's gonna take care of you." he says and kali breaths in as she gets a little light headed from all the stress.

they start driving and sarah holds onto kali's hand "what-what if they take..the gold." sarah says and john b looks at her "look, screw the gold, okay? we'll take care of you and get you to the doctor." he says and kali nods "you'll be okay sarah..i promise." she agrees and sarah nods with her "okay.."

john b continues to drive frantically while reassuring sarah while kali does the same. john b drops the phone and struggles to get it up from the seat. "john b car!" sarah cries out as she squeezes kali's hand "i know, sarah but everything's gonna be okay. i swear." she speaks with a panicked tone.

after driving for a while longer they reach the doctors place  and john b frantically buzzes the buzzer "what do you want?" a voice says from the other side "im looking for dr. nygard" john b says while kali holds sarah up "dr. nygard's not here." the voice says dismissively "okay, well, do you know where i can find him?" john b asks "who are you?" "im a friend of terrance's okay? look, somebody's been shot." john be explains "aw, hell." the voice says before continuing "there's a camera above to your left. look at it and let me see your faces."

the three of them look to the camera "alright, go through the bar. there's some stairs on the right." the voice tells them causing kali to immediately lift sarah off the wall as john b thanks him. the three teens move as fast as they can with a hurt sarah towards where the doctor is.

"doc!" john b yells and kali hears a faint voice "doc where are you!" he yells once again "here! right here!" the three teens make their way around a corner and an old man is at the top of the stairs rushing them "it's not her head, is it?" he asks and kali shakes her head "no, it's not her head." john b says more focused on helping sarah up the stairs.

kali stands out of the way letting the doctor take a quick look at Sarah's wound. he ushers them over to a room where john b puts her on a table. kali holds onto Sarah's hand as she looks to her best friend with tears slowly falling down her face. "you're gonna be okay sare..i promise you okay?" she says with a nod while the doctor starts to work on sarah.

kali shakes her head and look away not being able to even look at all the blood on sarah. "kali go get some air i've got her.." john b nods kali shakes her head "i can't leave her.." she sobs and sarah nods "go.." she says weakly and kali nods before walking out to the deck.

her cries are the only thing that can be heard as she leans against the railing. kali had already lost sarah and she couldn't do it again. her breathing quickened and she continued to cry while gasping for air. she sat on the ground and tried to calm herself down while resting her hand on her stomach.

after a bit Kali's breathing went back as it should and she sat there praying for her best friend to recover. the doctor walked out and nodded for her to go and join john b. she stood next to sarah and held her hand.

more time passes and sarah hasn't woken up just yet. john b checks her pulse and calls in the doctor. kali stands there still holding sarah's hand while looking at her best friend. the doctor stops her fluid and hurriedly looks through his office while kali and john b stay with sarah.

"john b?" sarah weakly speaks "hey. hey, you're okay.." he sniffles. "i can't feel anything.." she mumbles again and kali squeezes her hand tighter "no no no no, you're okay. it's okay. just listen to me" john b replies. sarah looks to kali "if i don't make it-" kali cuts her off "you're gonna be just fine sarah..we'll talk about everything that's happened and i'll tell you something that will change everything.." she says in a soft tone. "i need you to stay with me okay?" john b speaks and sarah closes her eyes causing the monitor to beep like crazy.

"doc!" kali yells as the monitor flatlines. the doctor rushes in and looks between the two of them "either of you know cpr?" kali nods her head "i do" the doctor looks at her "do chest compressions until i tell you to stop. try not to break her ribs" he says and kali starts doing hard chest compressions but not hard enough to harm sarah.

"okay" the doctor says before giving sarah a few pumps of oxygen "okay go again" he says and kali nods for john b to do it because she felt too weak to. john be repeatedly did the compressions while kali stood next to her best friends body. she knew when the doctor checked her one last time that sarah was gone.

"no.." kali sobbed over her best friends body as john b continued the compressions. "john b she's gone.." kali sobs while trying to pull him off of sarah's dead body. he screams causing kali to jump and move away from him. she just sobbed next to her best friend and put her hand on her stomach "i never got to tell you.." she mumbled coming to terms with her best friend being dead. again.

so I know i haven't updated for a hot minute but like this was a lot for me to write at once😬 I know the next chapter will be a lot of running around but I thinkkk everyone will be reunited next chapter😁 but that's really it!
