NINETEEN:
reunited.

THE GROUP MAKES it to the shore and move as quickly as possible to get off the boat with gas canisters in hand and a clear plan in mind. "okay, listen, we're gonna get some gas, find a phone, and get out of here, alright?" john b says to the two girls "how are we gonna pay for the gas?" sarah asks "don't worry about it. we'll figure it out." he replies and kali looks to him "I don't know if I like the sound of that.."

john b smiles at her and kali rolls her eyes. the three of them make their way into town and walk past a guy eating a sandwich. all three of their eyes follow the sandwich like they have never had a meal in their lives "that looks so good im starving.." john b says and kali hums in agreement.

"we gotta get some food. just follow my lead" the brunette boy says and the girls just nod. john b walks onto the patio of a restaurant and past a waiter at a table and lightly bumps him, causing the tray of water he has to spill all over the couple in front of them. kali gasps dramatically "oh my god are you okay?" she asks and sarah also looks to the woman "oh my god..your shoes!" she says between a gasp "we're so sorry" kali says nudging sarah.

sarah takes the hint and moves towards the table before sliding the man's cash into her back pocket "is there anything we can do?" she asks sweetly "no honey I'm fine, but thank you" the lady replies with a small hint of irritation in her voice. kali and sarah stand behind john b with fake embarrassment written all over their faces.

the man looks to john b in anger "pathetic." he spits and john b turns to starr walking with kali and sarah "no need for name-calling, sir." sarah says before the teens all walk away from the situation "did you get it?" john b asks. sarah looks to him "what are you talking about?" she says casually causing john b to look at her in fear "you mean this?" she says while pulling out the wad of cash she took from the guy.

kali and sarah chuckle at john bs panicked face "i'll sugar mama you" sarah says maintaining the smile on her face "I was hoping you would say that" john b says and kali chuckles once more "okay let's make sure we aren't there when he finds out we stole his money" she says and john b and sarah nod in agreement.

after walking for a little while they make it to a gas station and kali audibly sighs "finally" "how many hot dogs do you guys want?" john b asks and sarah hands him the money "like fifty" "make it a hundred" kali says before filling up one of the gas cans. john b walks inside with a shake of his head at the two girl and sarah looks around before mirroring kali.

all of a sudden kali hears talking and thinks nothing of it. she sees sarah move behind the gas station and mumble a few words under her breath. kali looks to her in pure confusion before following her best friend "what?" she whispers "look" sarah says pointing and kali sees the couple they stole the money from. she hides and curses under her breath

and if the time couldn't be any worse, john b waltz's out of the gas station with three hot dogs in his hand and talking would his mouth full and loudly. "they ran out of the real deal so these are vegan- what?" he speaks while the two girls shush him and tell him to get down. john b looks around confused "the guys right there john b" "he's literally right there." kali and sarah say while quickly finishing off the cans.
