TWELVE:
beginning of end i.

KALI WAS OUTSIDE the château with kie, jj, pope, and lucy testing out the way to get the gold from the well. kie was in the tin and pope was pulling the rope while lucy and kali stood on the outside just in case anything went wrong. "how's it feeling?" he says "feels good" kie replies and pope just responds with letting her down.

lucy goes over to her brother and sits next to him in the hot tub "john b pulling a houdini" jj says as kali leans on the hot tub "yea where is he? i got my scholarship interview tomorrow, we gotta get this done." pope says agreeing with jj.

As pope finishes his sentence john b walks toward his friends "yea i completely forgot about that-" kali side eyes jj as he cuts her off "speak of the devil. hey! dude i set up the entire winch to pull up the gold and everything" jj says but pope interrupts him "no he did not. i did that." kali chuckles and shakes her head at the two of them.

"hey john b" kie says as the group starts to follow their brunette friend "hey" pope says before looking to jj "okay..that's it?" he says and lucy stands from leaning on the hot tub "what's wrong with him?" she says and jj starts to get out of the hot tub "i was gonna ask you the same question."

the group walks into the château and sees john b going through the drawers. they all stand there confused "you alright man? what-what's up?.." pope asks "what are you looking for?" kie asks confused. john b ignores his friends before going to the couch and looking under the cushions "what's going on man?" as jj says that john b finds what he was looking for.

the gun.

panic starts to rise in kali and she gasps a bit "john b what are you doing.." she says as jj walks over to him and tries to calm him down. as soon as jj touches him, john b shoves him onto the couch. lucy goes over to her brother "john b chill!" "what the hell happened?!" kie and lucy say at the same time. john b ignores them once again and walks towards the front door "what are you jj now?" pope says while standing in front of his friend.

john b shoves him out of the way and into a table "jesus john b chill the fuck out!" kali says seeing him push pope while her sister checks on him. "john b what the hell are you doing!" kie says while jogging after him and the rest follow.

the remaining pogues all pile out of the house as john b revs up jjs dirt bike "john b what the hell!" kie yells and john b finally speaks "ward knows about the gold. he killed my dad." after john b is finished speaking kali's jaw drops. that couldn't be true. ward was like another father to her he could never kill someone. john b drives off and kali immediately looks for her phone and keys.

"kali what are you doing." lucy says as jj, kie, and pope come back into the château. kali is on the verge of tears "i have to go." she says her voice flat from trying to keep her tears at bay. not long after she finds her keys and walks out to her car. kali hops into the drivers seat and immediately goes home.

once kali is in her driveway she gets out of the car and rushes inside to her room. she opens the door and sees rafe on her bed scrolling through his phone. he looks up at her and concern washes over his face "hey kali are you okay.." kali looks at rafe "did you know.." she says and rafe looks at her confused "what are you talking about kali?" he says and kali sighs "just please tell me you didn't know..that your dad killed big john." she says as she starts to get upset.
