"Oh come on! You're spending your weekend on Wattpad and watching television?" your best friend, which had been friends with you since, what seemed like birth, groaned.

"I'm sorry, I just don't go out a lot... Especially when it comes to going out with your friends too,"

"We're all going as a group. They don't need a label," she sighed, tossing her gum wrapper in the trashcan as you two walked to the cafeteria.

"Well, how many boys and how many girls, not including you?"

She paused, counting the amount of people attending with her fingers.

"Two girls and two boys," she grinned. "Including you, it'll be three girls and two boys,"

"Agh. I don't wanna be a third wheel... But have fun----"

"Two of the boys are single... And the other two girls are just desperate bit--"

You bursted into laughter, before she got to finish her sentence.

"Well count me out. I don't like desperate girls... Plus, the guys won't pay me any attention anyway... I look horrible today, and I'm 100% sure I'll look horrible tomorrow. So----"

She looked at you with pleading eyes.

"Oh my God, you're gorgeous! Stop downing yourself! I promise you, it'll be fun. And if you don't like them... well, look on the bright side, at least they don't go to the same school as us," she whispered to you, nudging your arm.

It made you think...

If something totally embarrassing was to happen, you'd be perfectly fine. It wasn't like you'd see them again anyway.

You sucked in a deep breath and sighed.

"I'll go... But if anything happens----"

"Nothing will happen. I promise," she smiled widely at you.

You spent the rest of your Friday night, tossing and turning, thinking about the next day.

What if you found one of the "single guys" attractive? Would he just screw you over? Would he be just like all the rest?

No... I'm just overthinking it... You thought to yourself. Maybe he'll be really nice.

You tried to close your eyes and go to sleep, but you kept imaging the four friends your friend was bringing. All of them, hanging out together happily, and you, hiding in the background, feeling left out. You imagined them getting on rides together, and you staying out by the side rails, waiting for the next cart becuase the current one was already full and there was no room for... you...

You imagined the two guys buying a teddy bear for the other two girls, and your friend. You imagined them going into photo booths, taking series of pictures and laughing and smiling as you stayed outside, hearing their giggles through the red curtains. You imagined the night ending horribly, as they dropped you off at your house first, just so they can spend more time together on the ride home. What if things really went like that? What if... you were the odd one out?

You shook the thought out of your head and turned your lamp off, laying back down on your white, fluffly pillow in pure frustration.

"Please... Don't let it go the way I think it will," you begged, clenching onto the pillow.

You were going to have fun, even if the group was treating you as if you were an outcast. You just had to focus more on the positive...
