You sat wildly on the couch, as you layed and watched your favorite movie.
As you lip synched one of your favorite clips, your phone lit up.
You rolled over to your glass table, sitting in the center of your living room, and picked up the phone. Nash had texted you, which was odd.
The two of you had broken up about a month ago, and neither of you had spoken to each other since then.
You missed each other, though.
Even though you guys were broken up, you still hadn't took the heart away from his name in your phone. You had been waiting for this moment since your break up: for him to text you.
Now, you sat up, phone in hand, itching to reply. You read his message over and over to make sure what you were reading was real.
I need to see you. Now. I have to... talk to you.
Your heartbeat sped up and you felt a flash of heat run through your body.
"No way," you whispered.
There was a sudden knock at your door, but it didn't make sense to you.
Nash just sent that text, how could he be here already?
You got up from the couch and ran over to the door.
You gripped firmly onto your door handle, but you couldn't manage to open it. You were... afraid.
What if he was there to collect some of his things, not to see... specifically you?
He said he wanted to talk though... so maybe... he was there for you!
You gained authority and twisted the handle of the door and pulled it open, letting in a cool breeze of air. The air flew right threw you, as if a ghost had entered. You shivered as you stood there, standing right in front of... Nash.
"H-Hey, Y/N." his voice cracked, tearing you to shreds. His eyes were red-rimmed and his hands were shivering in his cold pockets. He wore a penetrating gaze, that you couldn't seem to find an escape from.
"Hi." you said simply.
His eyes lowered in shame. He lost eye contact with you, now staring down at your 'Welcome' mat, lying crookedly on the concrete porch.
A sudden gush of chilly wind blew, making his long, soft hair blow around. You gulped.
He looked up at you again, still standing in his very spot.
"I..." he paused, "I haven't seen you in forever... and I've been going crazy without you around.. I realized... I need you,"
His eyes welled up with tears as he looked away, truly embarrassed.
It broke your heart to see him like this. You never understood what went wrong between you two. Was it his career? Was there ever time for you? If there was, then what made you leave?
You bit your lip, tension building between the two of you.
"Nash..." your voice was small, but he still looked up at you.
You stepped outside into the freezing atmosphere, still focusing in on Nash. You were now one foot in front of him, chilling in his tense presence.
"I can't move on... why'd you leave me?" one tear fell from his crystal blue eyes, but he didn't acknowledge it. He acted as if he was completely strong.
"I... wasn't ready to get... so serious," you said truthfully. You loved him a lot, but he wanted something more, and too quickly. You didn't want to drag him down and keep him from living his life. So really, you broke up with him so he could have a better life... A life without you.
"I could've slowed down... I'm sorry if I was pressuring you in any way---"
"N-No... It's okay," you giggled, causing his worried expression to soften. He held back a smile at your small laugh, as if it had been centuries since he heard it. "I just didn't want to be the one to hold you back,"
"...oh," he silenced himself, losing eye contact with you again. Was he too ashamed to look at you?
"Hey," you said gently, tilting his head up with your thumb, although he was taller than you.
You smiled at him, trying to get one in return.
Instead, he wrapped his arms around you in an unexpected hug. Your face was buried into his large, leather coat. His arms were locked onto you, as if he threw away the key. His head was resting on your shoulders. His lengthy, brown hair was on your neck, sending chills down your spine. You guys hadn't been that close in a long time...
"I'll do anything to make you mine again. I promise, I won't rush you for anything you're not ready for," he parted from you.
"Thank you," you pecked his cheek.
After you two rekindled your relationship, you took his hand and pulled him inside to finish watching your favorite movie with you. You couldn't wipe the triumphant smile from your face. He was back into your life. And most of all, you were back in his.
