“Natalya, Natalya.” I heard my name echo, as if I’m in a huge cavern. I try to open my eyes, but they feel glued shut. When I moved my arms they seemed to be weighed down. I rolled over and groan. Something crunches under my body. I finally snap my eyes open. When I pick up the thing, I almost scream, it looks and feels like a human bone. When I open my mouth no sound comes out. I choke back a silent scream, and rub my eyes, until they hurt. I look down at the bone, and I almost laugh. “Stupid Natalya of course it’s not a bone!” I mutter, giggling. I set the bone pen on a counter. My eyes finally get use to the dim light. Looking around I can see that I’m lying in the middle of the floor of a lab. Hoping I’m on Areom, and I call out to Alden. But when nobody answers, but my echo, I sigh and sit back down.

Suddenly there is a click, and a huge double door swings open. I look wildly around but I can’t find a place to hide, so I back up to the far wall and I try to blend in with it. The moment the lady walks in, I almost give myself away by gasping. The lady looks younger than sixteen, but older than thirteen. I can’t tell if she is an adult or a teenager. She has hair that falls to her waist, in curls, its dirty blonde, and she has some light freckles, and sea green eyes. The lady looks behind her, and says “you can leave now, if I need anything I’ll call. Our lessons are private.” Whoever is behind the lady, says something in replies, and seems to leave. The lady softly closes the doors, and looks around the room. “I know you’re here somewhere, don’t worry, me and my instructor, won’t do you any harm. My name is Aylena. I’m here to help you, but we must be quick, you’ve been here too long.” I don’t trust her, but she is the most likely to get me home. I straighten up and wearily edge closer. “Where am I? How did I get here?” I ask.

“You are on Omera. A world in between Earth and Areom, I have gift for you. It will help you on your journey.” Aylena replies. Without turning her back on me, Aylena walks over to a shelf and grabs something, which looks, like a watch. Aylena walks back over to me, and hands me it. “Ok, listen carefully; I’m only going to explain once. That button on the side. That you normally twist. You push it in and hold it and count to five, then let go.”

“Then you turn it, and then on the clock face it will light up and you will see, either, Areom, Earth, Kappa, Omera, Aroma, and many others will appear on the clock face. You keep turning, but stop when you get to the name you want. Then you push it in and hold it in, and count to five again. Then let go. When you let go, in twenty seconds, you will be transported there.” Aylena explains slowly. “Do you understand?” I nod, my eyes wide open now. I take the watch and slip it on my wrist. “Just one question, can I take people with me?”

“Yes but they either, have to hold on to you or hold on to someone who is holding on to you. So you can take as many people as you wish. They just have to be holding on before you push the button the second time.”

“Thank you, Aylena; I hope I meet you again.” I say.

“Good luck, Natalya, and until next time.” Aylena replies. The world tips upside down and I black out again.

“Natalya! Natalya, wake up!” A voice yells. I snap open my eyes to see David, Nikkita, and Tara standing over me. “What’s up?” I ask casually.

“‘What’s up? What happened? Where did you go?” David rapidly fire questions.

“Did you see Alden?” Nikkita asks.

“Wow! Hold up! What is going on here?” Tara yells freaking out.

“I’ll explain later, but first please help me up.” I answer. David bends down and helps me. “Thanks.” I say.

“So what happened?”  Nikkita asks bouncing up and down.

“No it wasn’t Alden. It was someone name Aylena.” I answer.

“Who’s Aylena? And what happened, how did you meet her?” David asks.

“Hold on here! What just happened? Will someone please tell me what’s going on?!” Tara freaks out.

“Here instead of explaining let me show you.” I answer mysteriously. "Here hold on to my shoulder, and I'll show you all, something really cool." David puts his hand on my shoulder and Nikkita puts her hand on my other shoulder. “Tara I promise you, you won’t get hurt, just hold David’s hand.” I tell Tara. David holds out his hand, while Tara stands there looking at it. She slowly shakes her head, and backs against the table. I sigh and lift the arm with the watch up so I can see it. “Ok, you just have to wait a couple of minutes.” I tell David and Nikkita. I push in the small button and count to five and then let go of the button. “Ok, here we go. Are you ready?” I ask.

“Yep.” David and Nikkita say together. I nod and twist the button until the screen says Areom. Before I press the button I squeeze my eyes close and pray that the watch will land us with Alden. I push the button and count to five again. Right before I let go of the button Tara grabs David’s hand. I let go the button and the world tips upside down again. I blink three times and the world goes back to normal. When I can see again, I see my mom, dad, and Alden staring at us with open mouths. “Hey everyone, missed me?” I say with a wide smile, and a small wave.

“Natalya! What are you doing? How did you get here?” Mom exclaims.

“Nikkita!” A 5’3 man with dark black hair and green eyes exclaims.

“Hold it everyone!” I interpret. Everyone looks at me. “OK Alden a couple of things. One, can you please explain what’s happening to Tara, second there is something I need to tell everyone when you’re done.” Alden takes Tara over to a corner and tells her the story that Nikkita told me, when I first met her. I walk around the lab looking at all the things on the walls and on tables. I stop short when I pass a photo. I back up, and pick the frame up. “Hey mom, come here! You and dad have to see this!” I yell across the room to them. They walk over and I show them the picture. “What is a picture of Grandpa doing here?” I demand.

“There is something we’ve been meaning to talk to you about.” Mom cautiously says.
