2- Power

Mila's POV

I have a headache. My stomach is aching. I open my eyes and look up at my ceiling. I quickly sit up and notice I'm in my room. I don't even remember going to bed last night....

I get out of bed and go to the living room. My mom is making breakfast as she sees me. "Mila!"

She runs over and hugs me. "I was so worried about you! I'm so happy you're okay!"

"Wait. Why wouldn't I be okay?"

"Do you not remember? Two girls found you and Sky's bodies laying next to the old building. They called the ambulance and I was able to bring you home. They say you maybe passed out due to exhaustion. Sky however, got a concussion. The two girls found her head bleeding."

I gasp. "Wait! Sky's in the hospital?!"

"Yes, but it isn't severe. She is okay. She just has some confusion. She cracked her head a little bit."

I run to my bedroom and get dressed. I run past my mom and head to the door. My mom calls out, "Wait! Where are you going?"

"To see my best friend!"

I run down the street. The hospital isn't too far from my house. I make it there in ten minutes and run up to the woman at the desk. "I'm here to see Sky Takanashi."

The woman could tell I was tired. "Family?" She asked.

"Kinda..."

"Room 09. Turn left and she is in the first door on the right."

"Thank you!"

I walk to the room. I enter and see Sky sleeping on the bed with a bandage wrapped around her head. I sit next to her on a chair. Sky looked peaceful as she was sleeping. I try to remember what happened last night. Let's see....after school, Sky and I went to the arcade. Yes. Then as we were walking home.....what happened? Yes! Kiki showed up and pushed Sky. That's why she has a concussion. But...then what? The last thing I remember is feeling weak and the sky turned a dark color.

I heard rustling in Sky's bed. I look over at her and she opens her eyes. I smile and say, "Sup?"

"W-what? Where am I?"

"Take a look around."

Sky gets up and looks around the room. "Am I...in a hospital?" Sky scratches her head and feels the bandages. "What are these?!"

"Remember when Kiki pushed you down?"

"Oh yea! That hurt like Hell... I also remember you punching her back! Mila, that was so epi-"

"Wait...I punched her?"

Sky tilts her head. "Well..yeah. She went to punch you, you grabbed her wrist, and punched her face. It was awesome. Then you just fell to the ground. I was laying there in pain and I saw two girls come to us. They called the ambulance. That's all I remember."

"I don't remember any of that."

"Weird."

A nurse comes in the room. "Hello, Sky. You can go home today. The injuries weren't too bad. We patched you up yesterday. Just keep these bandages on and come back next week."

"Ok," Sky replies.

"You can't leave until a parent shows up to sign papers," The nurse says.

"Oh..my mom would be at work right now."

"My mom can come," I add.

"That's fine. Are you two family?"

Sky and I look at each other. "Yes." We say together.
