Mila's POV

Sky falls to the ground as she whispers, "You...liar...."

I look at Deliyah. "What just happened! How come when we defeated Luke, he turned to particles? How did we not know he was a demon?"

"You see, demons are great at looking like humans. They act like humans as well. When demons die, they turn to particles and go where demons should be."

My eyes widen."You mean...they go to.."

"Hell," Deliyah replies.

I look over at Sky. She isn't moving. Is that how I was when I released Gem for the first time?

Deliyah walks over to Sky. She picks her up gently and holds her in a princess carry. "Let's go, Mila. Hold my hand."

I walk over to Deliyah and hold her hand. "Cancer! Taurus! Teleport!" Deliyah yells.

Next thing I know, I'm standing in my room. Deliyah lays Sky on my bed and sits next to her.

"She's okay. She's just tired. She will be back to normal tomorrow but her memory will be fuzzy," Deliyah says.

"Umm..hey. What do I do with this?" I ask, holding out the gun.

"Oh! Exactly how you got it. Say 'Cancer! Gun of power,' and it'll go. Next time you need it, just repeat."

"Cancer! Gun of power!"

The pistol turns back into an orb and I touch it. It fades away.

"Well, i'm off. I'll see you girls later. Remember, it's your job to hunt these demons and bring my sister back," Deliyah says while standing up. I run over to her and grab her hand.

"Wait! I have questions!"

"What is it, Mila?"

"Luke. Was that really his name? And once Sky and I defeat Durken, the Demon King, and Gem is brought back, what will happen to Sky and I since we are Gem's reincarnation?"

Deliyah smiles. "Great questions. Luke was just his human name. His name is actually Marco, demon of swords. He was a swordsman but not very strong. There are much more strong demons than him. If this were a video game, he'd be a level 2. In this game, there's 100 levels. So, he was one of the lowest and you two had some trouble. It will get harder. You two need to get much stronger."

I look over at Sky. Her hand that she grabbed the blade was still bleeding. "Hold on."

I walk out of the room and get a wash cloth. I come back in and wash the wound. After it's cleaned, I wrap it up. "So, what's the answer to question two?" I ask, still looking at Sky.

I hear Deliyah take a deep breath. "You see, when Gem was dying, she wanted her powers down here to belong to two girls to defeat Durken and bring her back. You and Sky were the chosen ones. Gem lives inside you two. As you get stronger, you will fight more like Gem. She was so strong. Her punches could shake the land. Once you two defeat Durken, Gem will be alive again. This will be an amazing thing. However, you two will lose Gem's power. You two will be powerless after her revival."

I continue to look at Sky. "So, we are being used? We are to fight with our lives on the line to revive your sister. Why didn't she just give her powers to you? Why did Sky and I have to be put in danger like this?"

Deliayh sighs. I look at her with seriousness in my eyes. "You are not being used. This is an amazing power to have. You are helping planet Syren. I don't know why she wanted two humans to have her power.....but when you revive her...we'll know why."

"What if we don't revive her?"

Silence fills the room. The only sound being heard is the traffic outside my window. "Answer me. What if Sky and I die and Gem doesn't revive? Is planet Syren done for because Gem's power is non-existent?"

"Yes. Syren is now your responsibility. You have to try your hardest."

I stare at the ground. "Okay. Sky and I will bring back Gem. Just to get rid of these powers," I say.

Deliyah looks at me with sorrow. "Whatever you want. I'm off."

The room turns blue and Deliyah is gone. I look at Sky and start to cry. "Why? Why do we have to sacrifice ourselves for someone we don't know?" I grab Sky's hand gently, "I don't wanna die..."

Sky's POV

My head is pounding. My mouth is dry. I open my eyes and look around. I'm in Mila's room. Mila is asleep with her hand in mine. I shake her and she jerks up. "Huh? What?!"

Mila looks around and then looks at me. "Oh..." Mila giggles. "You scared me."

I look at my hand Mila was holding and notice it's bandaged. I point to it," Why?"

"I guess I should tell you what happened after Luke turned out to be a demon."

My heart skips a beat. My headache gets worse. I jump out of the bed and run into the bathroom. Pain rushes through my body as vile spills out of my mouth and nose into the toilet. I hear Mila's footsteps running to me. "Sky!"

She kneels next to me and pulls my hair back. Mila starts to rub my back. I know why I threw up.

I am heartbroken.

I never had a crush before. Not through elementary school, not middle school. But when I came to Kingsman Academy and saw Luke, my heart instantly fell for him. As I got to talk to him, I fell in love. His personality was like mine. He helped me through my parents divorce. He told me he was going through the same thing. He's such a liar. I wish I never met him.

More pain went through as I choked the second time. Mila continued to rub my back. I started to cry. "Help me....I...I..."

Mila pulls me into a hug. I start to cry harder. I never had my heart broken like this before. I have no friends other than Mila. I thought Luke was a friend. No. He was a demon. He wanted to kill me.

"Hey. It's okay. If we defeat Durken, our powers will go away and we don't have to live in danger anymore," Mila says while still hugging me.

I pull away. "That may be so, but I will live with this mistake forever," I reply.

"What mistake?"

"I trusted a demon."
