The Only Reason

Well the time has come.

School has ended and I'm currently packing all my things into boxes and suitcases with Melanie. This whole thing is very surreal and honestly it doesn't even feel like I'm really leaving.

'I can't believe you're leaving.' Melanie said as she looked at me with a sad face.

'I know, it's kinda crazy and I know it's sudden.' I said with a sigh.

'Yeah, I'm gonna miss you so fucking much Cal.' She said as she walked over to me hugging me to death.

'I'm gonna miss you too Mel.' I said hugging her back and we were now both crying.

We pulled apart and packed the last few things before heading downstairs with everything.

'All packed?' My mom asked as I made it downstairs and put the boxes down.

'Yeah, it's official I'm leaving in a few short hours.' I said.

'I still can't believe it, my baby's going all the way to London to be in an art school.' My mom squealed and I just rolled my eyes and laughed at her excitement.

After eating we packed all my things in my car and got in driving off to the airport. We passed by Luke's house and I looked at it sadly. I don't like the way we left things but I mean what else was I gonna do?

I could never live with myself if I let him come with me.

'Is Luke gonna show up to the airport?' Melanie askes me as we sat in the backseat.

'I texted him but I highly doubt that he will, I mean we didn't really end on the best of terms.' I said sadly with a shrug. She didn't say anything but just wrapped her arm around my shoulder.

We finally arrived at the airport and each of us grabbed two bags and walked inside. After stand in in lines and going through metal detectors we were finally done and were standing infront of the boarding gate saying out goodbyes.

'I love you so much honey and don't forget to call or write or twit or whatever it is you do okay?' My mom said hugging me to death.

'Yes mother don't worry.' I said as she pulled apart from me.

'Mel.' I said looking at Melanie who was already crying.

'Cal.' She said enveloping me in a hug as she cried on my shoulder.

'I'm gonna miss you so much, I don't know what I'm gonna do without my crazy best friend by my side.' I said.

'I don't know but you better not find anyone better than me, oh who am I kidding that person doesn't exist.' She said and I just laughed as we pulled apart.

'Honestly me either, senior year is gonna suck without you there.' She said sadly.

'College is gonna suck without you.' I said sadly.

After another hug I was getting ready to board. I looked around the airport for the one person I really wanted to see but they never came and I knew I deserved it.

I waved goodbye and walked down the aisle to the plane getting my ticket checked and leaving my hometown and family behind.

As I fastened my seat belt I took a deep breath and put on my headphones to block out everything for the hours I'd be on the plane.

I'll be in London once we land.

I can't believe I fucking fell asleep after I had planned to stay up.

Ugh!

I quickly grabbed my phone and keys and ran out my door to ny car. I started it up and drove off to the airport.

I can't miss Calum leaving.

I finally made it to the damn airport and ran inside as fast I could. After finding out where he was leaving I ran through everything and everyone but of course I had to go through maximum security.

I ran to the gate and saw Melanie and nother woman standing beaide eachother.

'Hey! Did I miss him?' I asked out of breath as I caught up to her.

'Luke? You actually came?' Melanie said shocked.

'Of course I did now where is he?' I asked looking around for him but couldn't seem to find him.

'Um, you missed him he just flew off. I'm so sorry Luke.' Melanie said sypathetically.

No.

I missed him.

I can't believe I didn't even get to say goodbye.

So I start college in ten days O: so that means that updates are gonna be slow, at least till like October

Actually I've been thinking about taking a little break all of September and coming back in October I mean I'd still write and everything but I just wouldn't post
