Allison declined every boy who had asked her to the Spring Fling. She knew rejecting each one was a dangerous thing to do because she could end up not having a date at all, but she figured that if Brandon never asked her, she could go anyway and snag somebody else's date.

It was the day of the dance, and Brandon hadn’t even talked to her yet. She was now calming her nerves while standing in front her mirror to check herself one last time before leaving. Allison was wearing a short strapless champagne colored dress from YSL, white heels from Jimmy Choo, and a silver rhinestone bow clutch from Alice + Olivia. A professional makeup artist had done her makeup, so that she shimmed with gold bronzer, and her hair stylist, Ducky, had curled her hair to perfection. The only thing missing was Brandon. It would be terribly embarrassing, bad for her reputation, and against the rules for her to show up at the dance single. All of a sudden, her phone rang. She quickly got up and grabbed her phone to see who it was. She sighed when she saw it was Charlie.

“What, tell me now and fast,” Allison said.

“Hey, can you come out for a sec? There’s something I have to show you, and it's really important,” Charlie said.

Before Allison could even ask her why, Charlie hung up. It was strange for Charlie to ask her to come out, because Allison had told everybody they could go with their dates, and that she would be okay going by herself, which of course was a complete lie. Because Allison was on her way out anyway, she walked outside, taking a huge breath.

When Allison came out of her front door and saw Brandon in a black buttoned down tucked into his black slacks. His tie was neatly done and hung nicely. The outfit was complete with vans. She stopped dead and cold. Charlie was nowhere to be found, but then realized that Charlie had probably helped Brandon out. Allison walked boldly to Brandon and asked coldly, “What do you want?”

“Hey, is it okay if we talk right now?” Brandon asked. Allison glanced at her phone and saw that she still had plenty of time left.

“I don't think I really have a choice, do I?” Allison said.

Brandon smiled as he handed over a champagne corsage and asked, “Will you go to the Spring Fling with me?” He said it so confidently that Allison froze. But she quickly regained her surroundings and narrowed her eyes at Brandon.

"No," Allison said back.

"What? Why not?" Brandon asked, his face falling.

"I don't want to." Allison smirked.

Brandon hesitated for a second, before he burst into song.

"When I see your face

there’s not a thing that I would change

cause you're amazing

just the way you are

and when you smile

the whole world stops and stares for a while

cause l you’re amazing

just the way you are..."

Allison was so surprised that she didn't say anything for a few seconds. Brandon was actually really good.

"Is that good enough for you?" Brandon asked, his eyes wide with hope. Allison gave a quick grin before taking his hand and stepping in the black limo.
