I gave Brendon's hand a squeeze as we approached the edge of the curtain hesitantly. He looked to me, his adorable brown eyes pleading for forgiveness for having to leave me.
He reached out and grazed my cheek with his hand, kissing my lips deeply. "Love you babe, see you after the show."
I nodded and smiled as he took his place up on stage. Today was a little different. I would be out in the crowd today. An escort took me out into the front row, where I sat in anticipation.
The crowd had no idea that Panic! at the Disco was actually waiting for them on stage. It was too dark to see anything. They spoke in whispered conversations and almost ignored the stage.
A spotlight hit center stage, where Brendon looked out. Focused Brendon Urie was probably the sexiest thing in the world. His eyebrows were knit tightly. He looked out to the back of the crowd with the mic in it's stand in front of him.
Then came the screaming, as everyone realized who was standing before them. I laughed as his eyes trailed to mine and he tried to maintain his focus.
"Oh how it's been so long..." he started saying with soft guitar chords behind him. The lights slowly warmed up to Dallon and Spencer. "We're so sorry we've been gone. We were busy writing songs for - you."
Flares shot up in the sky on the sides of the stage. Brendon spun around and eyed Spencer as he started drumming the beat to a new song. Laser lights spun around in the venue, making up for the few minutes of anticipating darkness.
I jumped up and down, singing Panic! lyrics like everybody else. Having the luxury of being front row, I reached out and got a piece of Brendon's skin. He smiled at me through his words. Fangirls fanned themselves with their hands. Brendon Boyd Urie was in the presence of their souls.
The concert went on like it had started. Everyone in the crowd was on their feet, having the time of their lives. Song after song, the boys absolutely crushed it.
I started to notice my head aching. No matter, I assumed. It was natural to have that. With all of the lights and sounds, my head is sure to ache...but was it meant to throb? Was my brain supposed to have a heartbeat?
I pressed my fingertips to my temples, feeling the same, incessant beat in my head. My stomach twisted into a knot and sent cramping sensations through my whole body. I felt myself shaking and saw how bad it really was when I held my hand out in front of me.
A loud ring slowly replaced the sound of singing and my vision started swaying. The lights got brighter, almost forcing me to close my eyes. I can't, I won't yet.
But, what they say is true. Your head is the loudest organ in your body, and it didn't listen to what I had to say. I saw Brendon's face flash with worry as he saw me. He suddenly seemed so far away and so high up.
There were a pair of arms that caught me just before I fell, but I was too busy going unconscious to see who it was.

I didn't trust him. Brendon was a good friend, but he didn't know Rose like I did.
I didn't trust her. I followed her to the Panic! concert, faking an illness that Gerard saw right through.
It was too dark for anyone to notice me then. I was a face among the crowd. Now? The spotlight was on me - quite literally.
I reached out, just as Rose started to fall. Her eyes were rolled back into her head and her weak body trembled.
The music cut out as Brendon shouted and stood, mortified by what had just happened.
My heart raced in circles through my ears. I lightly tapped her cheeks, asking her to wake up. She was unresponsive.
A team of medics rushed in with a gurney. They pulled her jacket loose and felt her forehead, burning as it was before.
Brendon ran to the edge of the stage, falling into a squat as he looked down at her. Tears were forming in his eyes as he watched an oxygen mask strap around her head. I'll give him credit. He cared enough to stop the show for her.
"Do you know this girl?" a medic asked.
I lifted her weightless body up onto the gurney. Her body was shaking as if it were winter. "She's my sister," I lied. It would give me access, so I wasn't too guilty.
They reluctantly waved me on to follow them and I turned to Brendon. He stared in horror as we started to run down the isle to the ambulance, now in sight.
Dallon whispered something in his ear. Shortly after, Brendon came running behind stage. Security tried to follow him as he caught up with us.
Dallon grabbed a stool, attracting attention by singing "Let's Kill Tonight".
"What the fuck is going on?" Brendon asked.
"I should ask you that," I spat at him.
He shot a confused look at me and ran to the other side of the gurney, grabbing her jittering hand.
They pushed her up to the ambulance and pulled the wheels in. I climbed in with her, helping the team lock her bed in place.
Brendon was stopped before entering in. A man laid his hand on Brendon's chest.
He gave a good fight, wanting to be at her side. Problem was, he still has a show to run.
I hopped out of the car and walked up to Brendon. "Hey, just go finish your show and I'll meet up with you after it's over, okay?"
He went up on his toes to see her, "I just want to know she's okay," he said, beginning to break.
I placed my hand on his shoulder, "I'll look after her, alright? She's going to be fine."
He didn't look so convinced, but he stepped back for me to run back into the ambulance beside her. The sirens started wailing and the doors shut, leaving Brendon's pained expression to haunt me.
