(UNEDITED)

"Shut up Jesse! I don't think she's awake. She's not moving."

"Is she dead?"

"You are such an idiot. Of course she's not dead! She's breathing!"

"But you just told me she's not moving!"

I was broken off from my deep sleep when I heard little children bickering. My eyes felt heavy and my back was hurting as hell, like I have slept on a cold hard floor. My eyes began to flutter open but a blinding light prevented me from opening them more. Soon there were two figures blocking the light and was hovering over me.

"Hey you're alive!" The little boy exclaimed and beamed at me showing off his perfect set of white teeth. The little girl beside him rolled her eyes and peered down at me. I looked at them while rubbing my eyes over and over, still feeling a little drowsy. I peered at them through my eyelashes and I noticed their resemblance to one another, from their eyes down to their crispy white shirts and brown shorts. The little boy had blonde hair while the little girl was brunette.

I helped myself up so I can face them better and they just watched me. Their eyes were watching my every move and soon I was sitting crossed legs in front of them.

"Hi! I'm Lilly and this is my brother Jesse." The little girl said to me as she waved a little hello and the boy did the same.

"Thank God! You're alive!" He blurted out at me and I smiled at his enthusiasm.

"I'm thankful too buddy. I'm Allie by the way." I introduced myself to them before something hit me. I realized I was still in the back of the truck that rescued us from the middle of nowhere last night. I looked at my side hoping to see Sage beside me but to my disappointment he wasn't there.

I looked at the two kids beside me and I found out that they were still watching me. I cleared my throat before I asked them where the hell am I. But of course I didn't say hell. They're kids. I'm not that bad of an influence. Really.

"You're in our barnyard!" They both answered before they stood up hopped out of the car and raced into a big house that I didn't notice before. The house was painted cream while the roof was a deep shade of brown.

Well that's reassuring. I'm in a barnyard. What could possibly go wrong?

That's right. What could possibly go wrong when you're in a barn? It's not like the people are going to boil me in a large pot of hot water. Where is Sage honestly? Did the aliens princenap him while I was asleep last night? Or did the people already cooked him? Oh god. What if the big burly man from last night was actually a Cyclops? What if there's a wardrobe in here that could possibly lead to Narnia or worst! The Monsters Inc. I shook my head to erase my incredibly weird thoughts before I climbed out of the pick-up truck and followed them. I caught them at the door where they were waiting for me to catch up. The little boy named Jesse opened the door and stepped inside while Lilly and I did the same and followed him.

We arrived at a spacious living room with couches formed into a square with a coffee table resting on the middle. We heard laughter from somewhere and the little kids raced to the place. I followed them and stopped when we arrived at what I think was the kitchen. There were about five people in the room. There were two old citizens, a couple and the one boy I had been looking for.

Sage stared at me before his eyes popped wide open. "Oh shit! I'm sorry Allie! I totally forgot about you!" He cried while he started to make his way towards me. He held my shoulders before he turned around so we were both facing the family. His hands still on my shoulders, "Allie, this is George and Lucy," Sage gestured towards the two citizens. I realized they were a couple because the old man was holding her comfortingly. I gave them an honest smile and bowed my head a little at them.
