I woke up when I felt something burning my skin. I pried my eyes opened but instantly met with a blinding light. I narrowed my eyes when the sunlight burned my eyes and I realized it was indeed the scorching heat of the sun that was burning my skin. I remembered the door to the terrace being closed last night due to the cold weather but right now it was opened. The hot air of New York and the gleaming light of the sun were entering my room.

I got up and walked to the terrace enjoying the view. I can see the massive garden from here and even the large pond. I breathe in some the fresh air and appreciate the beauty. I can't even believe that I was still in New York. The surrounding was calm and I can't hear the usual noise that I became accustomed to. I feel lucky though that I've experienced being here in the grand mansion of the royal Morris family with Prince Kleighton Morris himself.

I remembered arriving here late last night because the ride from the auction hall to here was quite long. It probably took thirty minutes. Last night we were both aware that exhaustion was slowly creeping into our body so we decided to settle everything tomorrow, which was today. The servants had already prepared everything for me so Prince Kleighton only walked me into my room, bid me good night and left me alone.

A knocked on the door cut me off my thoughts and I turned to look at the Prince beaming at me. He was standing by the door but not exactly inside my room. He looked sexy in his royal clothes, the color the same with his eyes. I glanced at my plain old tee shirt and pajamas and felt ashamed that I was wearing such simple clothes. Apparently I am staying with Prince Kleighton for a month so Denise packed everything that I needed. I don't even know why she was able to convinced my parents about the auction.

"Good morning Allie." He smiled at me and I felt the heat rising to my cheeks. "I opened the door when you were still asleep. I thought you'd like some fresh air."

"Oh. Okay, thanks." Can't I get any more awkward? I looked down and suddenly found the floor fascinating.

"Breakfast is ready, by the way. You can come down now, you don't need to change." I looked at him and smile a little.

"Sure, but who's going to join us?" I asked curiously. I wonder who's staying in the house right now beside us.

"Just us. Come on, aren't you famished?" And ladies and gentlemen, my tummy found that perfect time to rumble like a thunder. "I'll take that as a yes." He smirked at me. I looked at mirror which was closed to me and damn I looked redder than a tomato.

"I'm coming." I approached him and as I got out he closed the door with a soft thud. We descended the stairs, him leading me where to go. We stopped in a large dining room and saw the longest table I have ever seen. Probably even longer than our house. He pulled me a seat and I took it. He took the one in front of me and the servants immediately placed all the food on the table.

I waste no time and dig in. Gosh, the meat is so tender. I felt a pair of eyes watching me and I caught the prince looking at me. "What is it Prince?"

He narrowed his eyes at me and shook his head. "Just Leighton. Call me Leighton."

I stared at him wide-eyed. "It isn't really helping you know. It's still your name, you just removed the letter 'K'. Any shorter?"

He laughed at this and damn it he looks so frigging hot. "Sage"

"Huh?"

"Call me Sage. It's four times shorter." He picked up his spoon and fork and took another bite from his meal and I just watched him like the idiot I am.
