Her Perfect Distraction

Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

A few days have passed since Yuri and Tasha’s unlucky interaction and ever since that day, a flame of dislike had been lit between the two. Add the fact that Tasha found out that Yuri was the new girl that caught the attention of most people at campus. The people that used to follow and stare at her with awe are the same people that are now trying to get Yuri’s attention, either to ask her out or try to be her friend. The new girl is stealing Tasha’s thunder and she doesn’t like it one bit

“I swear, I am going to find a way to bring that girl down” Tasha spoke as she stared Yuri from across the hallway who is busy talking with her friends

Brenda stared at her friend, “You’re really determined, scary” She spoke, starting to worry for her friend

“She still needs to pay for what she did to me the other day” Tasha scoffed, “I can’t believe that many people like her, she’s not even that attractive!”

“She’s still no match for you Tasha” Brenda commented “By the way, what are you planning to do Tasha?”

“You’ll see” Tasha smiled

And so it began…

For the past 4 weeks, Yuri has experienced her stuff being damaged, her books and important documents shredded, not to mention dozen of rumors spreading around, from her being a former drug addict to getting pregnant and having an abortion. It was definitely bad and Yuri was aware of the culprit of all the crimes against her

Yuri opened her locker and found, yet again, another written report shredded to bits. She picked up the ruined report, “She really hates me this much?” Yuri spoke to herself, “This is the fourth time she’d done this”

“And you should start doing something about that Yuri”

Yuri turned and saw Summer with a dismayed expression, “You shouldn’t let her harass you like this!” she said

“It’s fine Summer, I’m mature enough to handle her childish acts” Yuri spoke calmly “Trust me, what she’s doing now is nothing compared to what I’ve gone through” she smiled

Summer sighed and leaned against the lockers, “She really changed you, didn’t she?”

“Yeah, she really did”

“Okay then, we’ll let you handle this, but if Tasha goes too far, the 2 of us are definitely going to do something. Kristen’s been practicing her flying kick and I’m still good at Karate, Toby will just supervise”

Yuri chuckled, “Thanks Summer for being here and for controlling those obviously fake rumors. Me? Pregnant? That’s just freaking crazy!”

Summer laughed and playfully put Yuri in a headlock as they headed to class

Yuri acted calmly because unbeknownst to Tasha, Yuri had already predicted and expected everything that’s happened and was prepared for it.

She already photocopied every single important documents and reports. She even had saved a back-up. As for the rumors, she just handled that as calmly and as positively as she can which made her look great to other students, so in the end, most people didn’t believe the rumors

“Tasha’s still not stopping?” Kristen asked as she sat beside Yuri at the library

“Nope, she’s still not getting sick of it” Yuri answered while reviewing the notes for the upcoming prelim exam next week
