Sam and Dean visited the local sheriffs office to find out what they knew and what they were hiding. The local deputy escorted the boys to see the bodies of the campers.

"Has the medical examiner filed an official report on what did this?" Sam asked before placing his arm over his face and coughing. The mans body was torn apart and the smell was terrible.

"He hasn't been in, but we received a call from the man before he died about a bobcat attacking them." The deputy covered the man and took the sheet off the woman. "Here's the woman." The Winchesters both coughed and choked. The woman's throat was ripped apart her head was almost completely removed. They gave each other weary glances.

"Was the animal found?" Sam asked as Deans cell phone rang.

"Its Cas I gotta take this. Excuse me." He smiled to the deputy and stepped out of the room.

"We didn't find the animal, but listen agents these woods have tons of wild life. There is no way to confirm which bobcat it was. We try to warn people, but they camp out there at their own risk." The sheriff suddenly burst into the room.

"Whats going on here? Can I help you gentlemen?"

"Hi sheriff I'm agent Seger this my partner agent Springsteen." Sam flashed his badge as Dean came back into the room shaking his head an placing his phone into his pocket.

"I don't understand, why is the FBI interested in an animal attack?"

"Sheriff, could we talk somewhere privately?" Dean asked raising his eyebrows toward the deputy. She shook her head yes.

"Of course, right this way." The sheriff lead the boys to her office and closed the door behind them. "So what can I do for you agents?" She asked with her hands on her hips.

"We know about what you're covering up here sheriff." Dean narrowed his eyes on her.

    "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about."

"The vampires, or should I say animal attacks." Sam said angrily stiffening up.

"Vampires." She laughed. "Are you serious?"

"Deadly." Dean replied without a smirk or hint of humor on his face. The sheriff eyed them suspiciously for a moment. Then looked down at her desk and sighed.

"How does the FBI know about vampires?"

"We're not FBI, we're hunters." Dean smiled sarcastically. "So do you mind explaining why you're hiding vampire attacks and protecting monsters?" The sheriff looked at them with shock. How did they know so much, and did they know about her daughter Caroline? She hesitated for a moment.

"It's complicated. I don't protect monsters. There is a lot about Mystic Falls you don't understand."

"We know more than you think. We're acquainted with Katherine Pierce."

"Shes a monster!" The sheriff replied angrily.

"Shes human now, and she filled us in on a lot of this towns history and its supernatural occupants."

"So have you met the Salvatores then?"

"Salvatores? No Katherine left out names."

"Well I think you should visit the Salvatore boarding house and ask to speak with Stefan. You'll change your mind or at least understand better. I don't protect all vampires, but some are worth protecting. Some stay who they are inside and don't feed on humans." The Sheriff said defensively.
Sam and Dean looked at each other for a moment.

"A monster is a monster sheriff. If we find what I think we will at this Salvatore house I will take them out sheriff." Dean assured her.

"Just ask for Stefan and hear what he has to say." Dean nodded at Sam and the two of them left the sheriffs office. The sheriff tried calling Stefans cell to warn him but it went straight to voicemail. She grabbed her jacket and headed out the door.

As Sam and Dean headed to the Salvatore house Sam decided to call and check in on
Cas and Katherine. He hung up his cell after talking to Cas. He stared out the window for a moment concerned.

"So Katherine, is dressed like Elena, and went to the Salvatore Boarding House. You know Elena told us we couldn't trust her." Sam narrowed his eye brows and looked at Dean.

"So what Sam, that doesn't prove anything except she knows them. Lets wait to see whats going on before we jump to conclusions."

"Since when do you ask questions first Dean?"

"Since there is obviously a lot going on here we don't know about, and Katherine has helped us find Elena, helped me in purgatory, and told us about Mystic Falls and the sheriffs cover ups." They drove the rest of the way in silence.

"Wow talk about the Munsters." Dean laughed as he pulled into the large driveway to the Salvatore house. Sam laughed at Deans comment.

"I think its kinda nice actually."

"Yeah me to, for Dracula." Dean smirked turning down the radio and shut off the car. "Looks like Elena, and Katherine are here." Dean pointed at the blue Camaro.

"I thought Elena left town." Sam looked concerned.

"Well looks like we don't know who to trust huh Sammy." Dean opened his door, he and Sam simultaneously got out of the car.  They both observed the boarding house for a moment and headed to the front door.

"Dean lets be smart here, there's at least 2 humans inside, and a car here we don't recognize. Lets not go in guns blazing." Sam lectured.

"Yeah Sam I know. We get Elena and Katherine to safety and see what this Stefan guy has to say. Then we gank every vamp we can find in this town." Sam nodded in agreement. Dean reached up and knocked his fist against the front door.  He reached behind to readjust his gun in the waist of his pants, and patted his jacket showing Sam where his stake was hidden. Sam nodded and patted his as well. Suddenly the front door opened. The Winchesters were surprised to see Elena standing before them.
