Another two weeks had passed and this time they flew by. That was all thanks to Donovan. Every chance we got we made out passionately, no strings attached. Something about it just gave me a feeling of fulfilment, a feeling that had been taken away from me when I got this job. It was even better knowing I was doing it to Brianna the brat.

For these past two weeks Brianna had been snapping at me for simple things like not mopping her floor properly. Despite getting deeply angered about her snapping, I always took a deep breath in and apologized for my actions. I knew I was getting back at her for kissing her boyfriend, so I couldn't care less about how she treated me. No matter what she did I was the one on top of her.

"Alanna, Ms. Rose wants you," Lea said, smiling tiredly as she walked by me with a mop in her hand.

Lea knew about everything that was going on. I wasn't sure if she was fine with what I was doing, but I couldn't care less. For once in my life I didn't feel like I was a waste of space and I wasn't about to stop that feeling.

Smiling back at Lea, I walked to where Ms. Rose was. She also looked surprisingly tired as she tied her fading red hair into a bun. Ms. Rose wasn't that old from what I knew, but this job had taken it's toll on her. Her face already consisted of a few wrinkles on her forehead and beneath her eyes. But despite that, she was a pretty lady.

"Yes, Ms. Rose," I said.

"Brianna wants you," she said, smiling.

I nodded and walked to her room, dragging my feet with exhaustion. Ever since the last ball Brianna had been calling me a lot more. Even though I was her maid, she didn't need me often when I first got this job. Now it seemed like she needed me every second of her life.

Once I reached her room, I was surprised to see the door was already open. Stepping in, I saw Brianna was standing in the middle of her room with her hands on her hips. She was glaring at me, a scene that I was used to by now.

"Stupid maid!" she yelled, causing me to sigh quietly. "How dare you not clean my washroom yet."

"You never asked me to," I replied calmly.

"Because you should know what to do by now," she snapped. "You're a maid. A stupid worthless one. Know your job by now."

"I'm sorry," I said, trying to remain calm. "I'll clean it now."

She rolled her eyes and I heard something shuffle from where her bed was. I glanced at her bed and saw Donovan sitting on it casually. He seemed to be staring at me, so I quickly pulled my gaze away from him. Whenever I was around Brianna I acted like I didn't know he existed. It was for the best.

Without a word I left and got the utensils for cleaning her washroom. As I walked to her washroom, I acted like neither Brianna nor Donovan existed. It gave me a feeling of nostalgia as I remembered the days where my life wasn't like a hurricane of good and bad.

I was resting in bed and reading the last book I had brought there. It was saddening knowing I would have no other books to read after I finished the book I was currently reading, but then I remember Leonardo's offer. Whenever I wanted to I could go get a book at his library. I really needed to do that soon.

After a few minutes of reading, I heard my room's door slowly creak open. Sitting up quickly, I looked at my door, wondering who it was. Lea had went to bed early and Donovan and I didn't see each other on weekends. Those were the days Brianna had him caged to her.
