"I wish we shared a room," Lea said, pouting.

"Yeah, me too," I lied.

Even though I loved Lea, I was glad we didn't share a room. I hadn't told her much about Donovan and I because we just met, so she had no idea he was going to visit me. In my opinion, it was for the best.

"I'll see you tomorrow," she said, walking to the door. "Bye."

"Bye," I replied.

She shut the door behind her and I smiled to myself. I had spent the entire day thinking about the moment he'd come, and it was finally almost time. In just one hour he'd come to my room and we'd get to speak. The fact that it was a secret as well sent spikes of adrenaline through me.

Knowing I would have to wait an hour, I changed into my pyjamas and got out a book. Laying on my bed, I began to read it. It was a good distraction for now.

*****

I heard the door creak open, and I quickly sat up. My hair was now a mess from laying down, but I didn't bother fixing it. Donovan always looked disheveled at this time, so he couldn't judge me.

"Hey," he said, closing the door behind him.

Just as I expected, he looked disheveled. The fact that he always did spiked my interest.

"Why do you always look like a mess at this time?" I asked.

"Make out sessions with Brianna," he responded casually.

"Oh," I replied awkwardly.

That wasn't the answer I was looking for. Donovan sensed that as he sat on the carpet in front of my bed.

"Don't worry, that's as far as we go," he said, smiling slightly.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "I wasn't worried."

He smirked. "Sure."

Rolling my eyes, I changed the subject. "So, I can ask you anything?"

"Yeah, anything," he said, running his fingers through his hair. "I'm an open book."

Looking up at the ceiling, I thought about questions to ask him. I realized now I hadn't even thought about what we'd talk about, I had just been excited to see him. Moments like this made me feel like a dumb.

"Um, I'm not sure what to ask you," I said honestly. "Tell me about your family."

"My dad is Richard, the landlord of Mariah," he said proudly. "My mom, Angelica, is his wife. I'm an only child, so that's basically my family."

"Oh..." I responded.

I didn't know what I expected from our meeting, I just expected it to be great. Seeing that he wouldn't give me extensive responses, I realized this would be an awkward meet up.

"Sorry," he suddenly apologized. "I've never done this before."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I've never really talked about myself to people." He shrugged. "No one really bothers to know more than my family name."

My eyes softened as I stared at him. That must suck. I knew how it felt to enjoy sharing things, even stupid things. It just felt great to share parts of you with another person.

"I want to know all about you," I said honestly. "So don't hold back."

He smiled. "Can I ask you a question?"
