I heard a loud banging on my door. Groaning, I wondered who it was. It was six o'clock in the evening which meant my chores were done for the day. Lea nor Donovan would knock like that, so I had no idea who it was.

Getting up from my bed, I walked to the door. Opening it slowly, I was surprised to see Brianna standing in front of me. Her lips were pursed and her eyes were narrowed at me. I stared at her in surprise. Never had she came to see me.

"Hey maid," she snapped. "There's a party on a boat. You're coming."

"I am?" I asked confused.

No one had brought it up. No one had even spoken about it. I never knew there was a party on a boat today. And I definitely didn't know I had to come.

"Yes," she said tiredly. "Who else will serve Donovan and I?"

"Okay," I said, still confused.

Brianna sighed tiredly. She seemed to be growing tired these days, which I found bizarre. Maybe it was due to Donovan. To be honest, I hoped she was growing tired of him.

"Dress up as if you're a part of the party. Be ready by seven," she said, turning around. "Come to my room when you're ready."

Without another word she left, leaving me staring after her confused. I was beyond confused, but a bit excited. I had never been on a boat before, so this thrilled me. When I went back home I at least had an interesting story to tell my parents now.

Closing the door, I decided to start getting ready. Knowing there would be a bunch of rich people at the party, I knew I had to look nice. That would prove to be tough since I was already exhausted from today's work. I smiled anyways.

Nervously, I looked down at my outfit as I stood in front of Brianna's door. I was wearing a red dress that went all the way to the ground, giving it an elegant look as it hugged at my curves. This was actually the best dress I owned. I was surprised I brought it, but now thankful. Other than this I would have had nothing to wear.

Finally feeling ready, I knocked on Brianna's door. It was soon opened by Donovan, who was wearing a tux. He looked hot - as usual - as he stared down at me with widened eyes. I blushed as he did and touched my curled hair that I had brought to one side of my shoulder. Even though I was with this boy, I couldn't read what he was thinking.

In about five more seconds, Donovan regained his composure. He straightened himself out and walked away, acting as if he didn't know who I was. That was the way we always acted around Brianna. Since she never questioned us anymore, I was glad to see that we were fooling her into thinking there was nothing going on between us.

I followed after Donovan, looking for Brianna. Soon, I spotted her in front of her mirror, putting on some silver earrings. She was wearing a black dress, a dress that I would never have expected her to wear. Brianna was usually the type of the girl to wear colourful pieces of clothing, but at least she still looked amazing. That was undeniable.

"Hey," Brianna said without looking at me. "It's nice to see that you actually have a decent piece of clothing in your closet."

I blushed in embarrassment, knowing Donovan was in the same room as us. Of all things, I hated it when she insulted me in front of Donovan. It made me feel belittled.

After seeing that I wouldn't reply, Brianna sighed. She moved away from the mirror and stared at me blankly. Her eyes then moved to Donovan and she smiled brightly. Adoration for him was evident in her eyes.
