The Awakening Part 4

"Daddy I just don't know if I can handle this", said Samantha.
"You can handle it Samantha. I myself when my grandfather told me our history I thought I could not handle it but I did it and every time I saved someone I was happy I did. You have no idea how much you can help people by picking up the fight", said Samantha father.
"Do you really think I can do this I've never really understand how to be athlete I'm not the person to do this. I'm not smart like Novella. I'm not strong like Nivea. I'm just me. How can you ask me to do something that you know that I have no way of doing it", said Samantha.
"Honey my father once said that a bald eagle is not our nation symbol because it is the best bird we could pick but because it symbolized the American people the best way. It showed that while we are not the best people we are trying to be the best and the best that I can ask of you is too your best. It not like I won't be there to make every step a little easier all I need you to do is to make the step in the right direction. So Samantha Eloise Grafton what you your answer", said Mr. Grafton.
"Daddy if you believe in me then I guess then I should believe in what you say too", said Samantha.
She walked up to her father, gave him a hug, and held him for a second and for a moment, they both started to cry. She could feel that her father had made a decision that he had no idea what would happen but he was happy. She knew that it was a happy cry that they both had. In the corner of the door there was Novella waiting for her father. She stood there listening to the conversation. She was in awe of what she was hearing. She wanted to cry but she stood still and listened on to their conversation.
"Daddy this was something that you wanted to tell me for a while wasn't it", said Samantha.
"Yes honey I wanted to tell you everything but was so worried that you would not understand what I needed from you. I'm just so happy that you understand, but there more to things let me tell you about how to kill vampires. while many people believe that the try and to true method of killing a vampire is the only way the truth is that their bodies are like us and doing that would kill anyone. Since that true, you can use guns and such to do this but just one difference is that you need to kill them with holy items and bullets made of silver. We have no idea exactly why this works we can only understand that vampires get very weak to the point that they die because of silver. This is true for wolfs", said Mr. Grafton.
"Wait dad so you're saying that werewolves are real true too", said Samantha.
"There not called werewolves by us Sammy there called wolfs because just like vampires many after the change are not whole and kill anything in sight and the worst thing is that some don't change back and if they do they don't remember what they had done afterwards. Vampires are not demons so crosses don't work unless blessed by the pope", said Mr. Grafton.
"So wait why do they work then", said Samantha.
"They work because these items push back their evil intention not the person they become docile but they are still dangerous. A hunter found that out once while he fighting a lieutenant of a king in Europe.
"Wait, so what a king dad", said Samantha.
"While to tell you they truth they represent the most powerful vampires that ever will live. They sit all around the world and command the armies of the pure bloods. If a pure blood kills a human without the purpose then they have to go to the king for mercy. We in the government known little of them only that even some governments answer to kings in the area. Our government knows this as of today. There are ten kings with a similar story to uncle. Most do not kill there living heirs they live with them in there compounds to keep them safe from other vampires. As a vampire, the power to kill a king is too great for even a pure blood to resist. The honor of king is given to the oldest king of them all. They say his name is such that any human cannot pronounce it so he goes by the names of the most famous vampire ever written", said Mr. Grafton.
"So what you're saying is the Dracula is the main king that rules over every one of the pure bloods in the world. Wait so why don't they go kill him if we know so much about them", said Samantha.
"While that a great idea that idea has already been thought of by people before you they been trying to kill the weakest one in England for over 200 years now and lives with his wife one of the last pure blood Wolfs. There force has ruled over England since before I was born. For know we in the community do not after them since they keep rule over those who want to not kill us. Any way while it is great to go and pull Dracula to the sun like in movies where he lives has little life and the temperature is such that few humans even go there. He lives in Antarctica in the center of it in an underground building that filled with lead so satellites can't see through it. We also been told that if the true king is ever hurt then they will raise an army to march on every major city and kill everyone in the city. We can't survive a major attack from them", said Mr. Grafton.
"Why can't we they can't live in the sun we attack in the sun and we have the advantage right", said Samantha.
"They are pure bloods so the sun does not affect them the only thing that affects them really is the daisies", said Mr. Grafton.
"Wait so you're telling me the most common thing in the world can kill pure blood vampires. How did anybody find out about it", said Samantha.
"Well the funny thing is that some pure bloods use to sleep in the ground like in movies and when someone planted some daisies on top of it one day the vampire didn't get up after the plant bloomed. After a couple of weeks, the people of the town, which the vampire ruled, dug him up and found that the plant had killed him. It seems the roots and the flower pollen can kill them in a matter of minutes the vampire had no chance. It is a fact that only few vampire hunters would like us to know. It is for the simple fact that the village was killed shortly afterwards. It seems that few want us humans to know of the things that can kill them. I myself have a gun specially made to hold the extract from the plant for when I meet a pure blood. The only problem is that it hard to tell the difference from a pure blood and a mix until the sun comes up. That why hunters try not to show themselves to people. They make up jobs for people like police or as my mother and I said accounts so people cannot tell. It is not uncommon for pure bloods to kill a whole family if they feel that they are hurting there race in any way. Your mother and I made sure that we blocked everything from you both and for that; I am sorry and very happy. You both got to grow up having a happy life you didn't have to worry about us going to work everyday. Through we, both worry about you too a lot because of our dangers. We knew that you were going to happy if something happen to us. Your best friends parents knows about who were truly are and told us that I something happen that they would take care of you both", said Mr. Grafton.
"So when will I start my training dad", said Samantha.
"Well you will start after I get out of the hospital at the end of the week", said Mr. Grafton.
"Wait how can you come home you have all those injuries you need to stay put and rest I can start when I get home on my own then when your ready you can come home", said Samantha.
"Well that would be great if I was a regular human but we are special and we have the healing ability similar to uncle so are wounds almost disappear in a matter of days not weeks. We can withstand punishment that would kill a human easily from this but you always remember that we are not superhuman and can die from extreme blood loss and head trauma", said Mr. Grafton.
"Well then I'll wait for you father but I know that my sister needs to talk to you so I'll wait outside", said Samantha.
"You must do something for me don't tell her what I have told you I'll tell her something later right now she too young and too immature to understand this. This will only hurt her to know", said Mr. Grafton.
Novella shed a tear for a moment in the corner then walked back to the waiting area outside of the door and sat down. She began to cry. It would be the first time in her life that her father had said she too immature to her in life.
"Alright dad I won't tell her but when will you tell her about all this", said Samantha.
"I'll tell her when she comes of age like you even through it won't be long until she does. I want her to have as much of a normal life as she can so she can have a somewhat normal life. I always regret the fact that your normal life was cut short because I could not do my duty", said Mr. Grafton.
"It not your fault father what happened I know that mom and grandma would be happy with your decision. It not like my life is over. How can this change my life so much? You have so much your self so I'll be fine", said Samantha.
"I always want you to know that even through this is a duty pass down to you by your fore father that you need to have a life for yourself. You must always have balance for yourself. You cannot soar to the sky if you fear the sun you know", said Mr. Grafton.
"Where did you get that from", said Samantha.
"Well I got it from a painting a long time ago it depicted a seagull flying in a storm to the sun. Their a poem to it also says that. I always like to think about it. It use to be in your grandparents house but I don't know where I stored it so I guess I may have to buy it again so I can look at it", said Mr. Grafton.
"I won't take the job as my life father but I will take it serious ok. Well there one thing I want to know how did we find out about the daises if the entire town were killed by vampires", said Samantha.
"Well that the thing one of your ancestors were living in the village when it happened they happen to have left right before it happened. A dieing villager told your ancestor what happened", said Mr. Grafton.
She smiled a little then said her goodbyes to her father. She then walked out f the room. When she saw her sister still crying from before, she went to console her but she just moved away from her.
"I don't want you to touch me I just want to be alone", said Novella.
"I understand", said Samantha.
She moved away from her sister and sat across from her in a seat right in front of her. She then saw Nivea and Jun parents coming from the end of the hall. There in the distance she saw her friends behind them. She really wanted to see them and really talk to them about what she just found out. Then she thought for a second if her father was right and by telling them about what she knows that it would change everything for them. She knew that she could not keep it from them.
"Well girls how about this you stay with me for a night or two then over Mr. Santos house for one", said Mrs. Joy.
"I think that would be fine with me", said Samantha.
They walk out of the hospital after novella talked with her father then they got in the little car that was owned by Jun mom. It was a green Volvo with an open back. All of except novella sat in the back. The back had been taken out so that we could sit in the back all together. I looked out of the window and saw the hospital getting smaller and smaller then. I watched as we passed all the places that my family would drive all our lives. Then I saw the graveyard that we used to hold our breath because it was a game. Now I looked at the graveyard and knew that where my father was going to be and that where my first fight was going to be. I wonder was this going to be the first and last. I remember thinking I hope I never have to fight uncle ever in my life. I wanted to never see him again.
