Different (Kaisoo Fanfic)

Chapter Thirty-Two

'How did it go?' was the first thing Kyungsoo asked when his dark skinned boyfriend arrived back at the dorms. But, judging by the smile on the younger's face, he already knew the answer.

'It went great,' Jongin replied, confirming Kyungsoo's suspicions.

'That's fantastic!' Kyungsoo squealed. He dragged the taller over to the bed and pulled him down to cuddle. 'Now we just need to sort out things with Baek.'

The smile instantly fell from Jongin's face. It was replaced by a thoughtful frown, as though he was remembering whatever happened between them. Eventually, he forced a smile and wrapped his arms around Kyungsoo. 'That can wait. For now, let's just cuddle.'

And so that's exactly what they did.

The rest of the weekend passed by in the blink of an eye. Jongin and Kyungsoo spent time with their friends as well as on their own.

When they did so, Kyungsoo never failed to notice the awkwardness surrounding Luhan and Sehun's relationship. The older often sat between Sehun's legs or in his arms, but they didn't appear to talk often. When they did, both of their cheeks flushed and they avoided too much eye contact.

Although they were very affectionate towards each other, their relationship seemed to be unusually silent, and only really consisted of kisses, giggles and cuddles.

And he hadn't told anyone about his opinion, but there was a certain feeling that was worrying Kyungsoo - Sehun and Luhan just didn't seem right for each other.

This led to other self-loathing thoughts, such as the fact that Kyungsoo was a bad friend in not supporting their relationship. But he couldn't deny the instinct that was nagging at him.

Now, Kyungsoo stared at them with narrowed eyes from across the classroom, as Luhan leaned in to kiss his boyfriend's cheek. Unsurprisingly, Sehun's gasp was as clear as though he was right beside Kyungsoo.

'Stop!' he whisper-shouted, but he wasn't very good at whispering. He hastily looked around the classroom before adding, 'Someone might see us!'

Even from Luhan's almost side profile, Kyungsoo could tell he was pouting. 'So what?' Luhan argued. He only received a huff from the sandy haired male, who turned back to his work.

Kyungsoo's attention was torn away from the worrying scene by the sound of Taemin's voice. The light brown haired boy was sitting two seats away from him, with Jongin separating them. On Kyungsoo's other side sat Baekhyun, then Chanyeol.

'Jongin, help me,' Taemin demanded, only the way a best friend would.

Jongin turned his head and glared at the older male, but there was nothing serious about his expression. 'What with?'

'Everything.' Taemin's bottom lip jutted out as he stared down at his Maths books with sadness in his eyes.

'You're shit at Maths,' Jongin dead panned. 'You're way past help.'

He hissed when a small but firm hand came into contact with the back of his head, and he looked to the side to see Kyungsoo cocking an eyebrow at him.

The smaller male rolled his eyes, before leaning over Jongin's back to peer at Taemin's book. 'What do you need help with?' he asked kindly.

Jongin whimpered from beneath him, since his boyfriend had squashed his face against the desk and pinned his body to it with his arm. But the tanned male could still hear the grin in Taemin's voice when he cooed, 'you guys are so cute.'

Jongin tried to sit up, but Kyungsoo's ridiculously strong arm made that simple act seem impossible.

'I can't solve this one,' Taemin replied, and Jongin felt the pressure of Kyungsoo leaning further over his body to see.

'Your method is right so I think you just thumbed it into the calculator wrong. Did you use the brackets for each part?'

'Ah,' Taemin said, dragging the syllable out in realisation. 'No, I didn't. Thanks, Kyungsoo.'

'No problem,' Kyungsoo said cheerily and leaned back, releasing Jongin from under him. When the younger shot him another glare, he simply smiled as sweetly as possible. He laughed at Jongin's pout, then pecked his cheek before anyone could see.

'Watch it, little Satan,' Jongin warned, but grinned nonetheless.

'I don't know what you're talking about,' Kyungsoo giggled, then soon returned to his work.

Turning back to a surprisingly concentrated Taemin, Jongin muttered, 'are you planning something?'

Hurt flashed across Taemin's face, but he soon replaced it with a dissatisfied pout. 'He was just being kind, since you wouldn't help me.'

'I never helped you,' Jongin laughed, causing Taemin to do the same.

'Yeah,' he chuckled. 'Minah always used to help me in middle school.'

Kyungsoo's ears pricked up. Minah?

Jongin snickered. 'Don't be stupid, Tae. She was probably just trying to get in your pants.'

'You're probably right.' The two returned to their work for a while, but the name was still playing over in Kyungsoo's mind. It sounded like a female name, but why would they be talking about a girl? Taemin's voice broke Kyungsoo out of his thoughts once again. 'Do you still talk to her?' he asked, his question directed at Jongin.

Kim Jongin, you better watch yourself.

'Why would I? I never stayed in contact with her.'

Good answer, Kkamjong.

When Baekhyun snorted, Kyungsoo almost jumped. 'I find that hard to believe,' he said, his voice cold, and Kyungsoo realised that his friend must have also been listening to the whole conversation.

Taemin leaned forward and spoke past the two boys to Baekhyun. 'Why?'

'You know why, Taemin, don't be an idiot. You two were friends when everything happened.'

The brown haired boy sat back. His voice dropped quieter as he spoke only to Jongin. 'You guys still aren't friends? Have you not just forgotten everything that happened?'

Jongin offered the boy a sad smile. 'It's not that easy, Taemin.'

Soon after, everyone's attention returned to the class, but Kyungsoo couldn't seem to focus on the numbers and equations before him. Minah..

The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Could this Minah perhaps be the unsolved issue between Jongin and Baekhyun? But more importantly, what could possibly have happened with a girl?
