The reality of 3am

It's funny how we pour out our hearts and empty our souls into raging bitter silences in the darkness of 3am, holding tight to our knees, rocking back and forth, stuttering and clanging our teeth, our jaws almost ripping from each other, mouths ovaling silent screams to white shadowy walls, praying for someone to talk to. It's kind of like religion. Like we pray to God only when we're lost and lonely, we scour for human contact only when others are lost from us.
