The Counsel turned out to be this really big tent with golden streamers hanging hear and there. A leader from every type of magic sat in there own individual seat, watching me from my small little metal fold-up chair. "Kason," A man said.He wore a yellow ring, much too large for his long slim fingers. "Edith has told me you have seen Violet," he paused and looked around at the others around him, nervously. "and you claim she's chosen you."
The whole room was stirring and buzzed with whispers and conversations. "Yes." I said, not knowing really how to reply. I felt like I was in court, being sentenced to jail for a decade just because I saw someone I shouldn't have. They all looked back at me wide eyed. "Do you know if anyone you know has seen her also?" A young woman said. She had a long pink skirt that matched her earrings. I glanced over at Oliver who had pleading eyes, staring back at me.
"No ma'am." I replied.
The room stirred again and I was beginning to get annoyed. They suddenly stopped seeing a man dressed in a purple vest enter the tent. "You mustn't lie to us Kason, not now, not in these times. If what you are saying is true, we will test it." He said sternly, sitting down near the man with the yellow ring. I didn't like the sound of that at all. Test it? How would you test it? The man straightened his vest.
"So we're going to ask you, Kason, is it true that you saw Violet and that she has chosen you?"
I noticed he had a large gash on his cheek that now leaked with blood. Something is up. I looked up at him dead on. "Yes." He sighed then stood up. "You will follow me." he said walking out the tent. The others began to stand and waited for me to leave. I followed him and walked out the tent as well.
"My name is Miltius. You might as well know. Your going to die in the next hour so there's no need in being secretive." I stopped, whoa, what? Then I continued walking ignoring his comment.
He held is hands behind his back and walked into the forest area behind the camp, still inside the bubble shield. We came into a large clearing and a large dorm, like a cage stood in the middle. He opened the latch and opened the door. Wait. I'm going in there? No way. I backed up only to be pushed in by the man with the yellow ring. When I stood up I saw everyone crowded around the dorm, even Edith but I saw her crying in Oliver's shoulder. What are they going to do? Send a dragon out and I have to slay it? Real scary. I looked at the small wooden door ahead, knowing something's going to pop out.
The wooden doors banged and I flew back, now terrified. Yep, I'm dead. I saw the latch slowly turn, glowing purple and I realized someone from the outside had psychic power and was unlatching it. Smart. A white fox flew out and bolted toward me. I turned into the cat and got ready but then I saw it. The tail had an inch of black then back to white. It was Violet. I turned to myself. "Violet!" It still flew into my stomach and I fell back on my butt. I held the fox close to me as I stood up. She was shaking and I heard her crying.
"Bright eyes,"
"I'm right here."
She still shook and I looked up at the crowd around us and saw everyone was in awe. Their jaw's dropping to the floor. She stood back and turned to herself and hugged me tight. Her tears dripped down her cheeks and onto my shirt that hasn't been washed in three days. "They took me and I was scared," I just squeezed her tighter.
"It's okay, I'm here."
The door flew open and Miltius ran in. "Why you little-" He grabbed her from me and tossed her aside.
"Violet!"
I saw Miltius draw back as if he were to strike her. Then I realized he really was. I grabbed him and spun him around and punched him straight in the nose. He stumbled back a few steps and I saw his nose a little crooked. Did I? I looked down at my fist and saw it glowed green slightly. Someone outside the arena must be helping me because I know I can't punch like that. Miltius came at me again but I just tackled him onto the floor.
"Violet run!"
She still sat there not believing her own eyes.
"Violet go! Now!"
I saw her turn to a snow leopard and take off through the open gate. She's safe. Miltius finally was able to fight me off of him and he pushed my against the cage. He pulled out a dagger and got it close to my face. Oliver appeared in front of me as he stabbed and there I saw his blond hair and a small point poking out from the back of his head. I saw Miltius' face twist in horror and stand back. Oliver fell forward but by then I was already out the open gate and running away. For good.
