Vitta sat across from me in the Mess Hall, eating the corn and lamb they gave us to eat. I'd rather have my mom's Alfredo. Dylan sat next to her after getting his thirds, I rolled my eyes and continued to eat. She took a sip out of his drink and I felt like throwing up. You really don't know where that mouth has been. I finished and threw my plate away and sat down at a table far from them, by myself. They insisted I sat near the animal shifters. They all wore these purple vests besides me, Vitta had a purple scarf, i realized and Dylan had a scarf also. I looked around for Violet, hoping to see her. Also so Oliver doesn't still think I'm crazy for running back into the woods.

Edith sat beside me, finished her food as well. "Why arn't you with your crew?" She asked gesturing over at the group of purple vested animal freaks. "I don't like 'my crew' that much." I muttered pulling my beanie farther over my eyes.

"Oliver told me you know who Violet is." She said smiling warmly. I nodded slowly seeing to what she was getting at.

"No one has ever seen her , she lingers these forests, searching for the chosen one." She began.

"Yay a fairy tale, just what I need." I retorted.

She frowned but continued, ignoring me. "The chosen one is to be the one who saves us from the evil wizard Arkimenon. He's been trying to find this camp for years, yet he has failed. Violet is actually an animal shifter like you, only much better in so many ways." she said.

"Thanks for your criticism." I mumbled and stood up.

Edith touched my shoulder, stopping me. I saw worry in her eyes. "Kason, she's different, you wouldn't understand, we've seen dead teens in these woods who have seen her. Some died unharmed, as if with poison. Be careful, if you see her, run." She had wide eyes.

Now I'm a little freaked out, I walked into me and Oliver's tent to see him holding out a purple vest to me with a wide smile. "No way." I said sitting on my mat. He frowned and sat on his. "You miss good meal in morning." he said quietly. I looked from me spot and grinned. "If you don't mind me asking, why don't you talk a lot?" he bit his lip and fiddled with the grass under our feet.

"Violet, she took speech, I have learn now, some words." He said struggling on half the words in the small sentence. "Why does she hurt people?" I asked. "She is scared, most do not know, we friends. You may not be. Kason." He said now looking at me dead on. "I don't speak to you about her. She will take my life, scared that some will know, that she real."

I decided to take a walk after that. For some stupid reason. Vitta tried following me but I took a sharp turn and lost her at the crowd of telepathy peeps. They were all gathered around a poster, Oliver was there too. I walked out the bubble thing, whatever it was and into the forest. I sat down on a stump in a clearing where Dylan said I could train by myself. Might as well.

I turned to my cat and practiced running again. I tripped here and there but by sundown I could run full speed. I ran through the wood, excited at what I can now do. So I'm going to die, more then likely the next time i see her. Now I had a fear that wasn't there before. I sat down at the small pond, the one the size of a puddle and looked into it. I had bright green eyes, like they were shiny when I was a cat.

Then I turned to myself and got out my mom's scarf and set it beside me then I turned back to the cat. I played with it for a while and let my pink nose smell the fading, perfume she used most. Then I let it float down and hit my face. I looked up at the fading sky through the fabric and sighed. She was up there, somewhere. Dancing on the clouds, holding out her hand for me to join her. I would. I really would.

"Hey little odd boy." Violet laid next to me looking up at the sky, her little fox tail, tucked in between her small white legs. I pulled the scarf off my face and looked over at her. "That's a long name, now that I say it. What should I call you?" She asked looking into my eyes. My hair slightly stuck up as I saw the waves in her purple eyes. "What is your name little odd boy?" She pawed at the scarf. I thought for a moment. She turned to a cat, just like me and smiled warmly. "You can call me bright eyes. That's what the others began calling me." I replied. She looked surprised to hear me speak.

"Bright eyes. I like it, and it suits you. Your eyes are really bright, and green, and just cool to look at." she giggled. I stood up and turned to my self. She looked up at me from where she lay on the ground, confused. I put mom's scarf back in my pocket and pulled my beanie farther over my head. "I think I should go." I said, knowing she's planning to possibly poison me or something. She turned to herself and touched me, the first time, my arm.

"You shouldn't be scared bright eyes," She got close to my ear, her hair touching my chin.

"I have chosen you." Then she was gone.
