Rainclouds cast dark shadows over Sydney as people rushed home from work, anxious to get out of the rain. Everyone was looking down, avoiding eye contact or just trying to get the rain to stay off of their faces. No one noticed the young boy, standing in the shadows of the alleyway, trying to stay out of the rain.

Or that was the way that she liked to tell the story when she delivered the young boy to the nearby police station. It made her seem like more of a hero, gave the story a nice dramatic flare. No one really believed her, but they couldn't really disprove her story, either. She didn't stay for long, either, just long enough to drop off the boy and run.

The boys parents, it seemed, were not around. No one knew if they were dead or if they had just disappeared to somewhere else in the universe. Either way, the boy needed somewhere to go, so he was told to pack his bag and was sent on a train to the nearest orphanage.

They finally worked the name out of the boy: Troye Sivan. No one was sure if Sivan was his middle name or his last, but he wore it with honor. He never let anyone forget about the 'e' on the end of his name, either.

He was a sweet young boy, a little older than three, but surprisingly smart, and could sing like an angel. No one was able to find out how long he spent living on the streets, but everyone had their guesses. Some guessed he had lived there for years, because of how smart he was. Some guessed just a couple of days because he was still so innocent.

His innocent demeanor and sweet personality meant it was only a couple of months before he was adopted and taken to America to live with his new family. Everything in his life was perfect, for once.

For a few years, anyways.
