*Troye's P.O.V.* *slight time skip to weekend*
"Get uupppp!" Connor sang, flashing the lights in my eyes. I groaned, rolling over on my air mattress and covering my eyes with my pillow.
"I don' wanna," I mumbled incoherently, face still shoved in my pillow. Connor finally gave up on flicking the lights, opting instead to just jump right on top of me. I screamed quietly, taken off guard, before swinging my arm around to lightly hit Connor in the back as he laughed.
"Rude!" I giggled, rolling over to knock him off the small mattress.
"And I'm the rude one?" He giggled from the ground, staring up at me from the floor. "Come on. We're going to the mall to get you some clothes and stuff." I rolled off the bed, careful not to step on Connor as I stood up and helped him to his feet.
"But I haven't gotten a paycheck yet," I pointed out, but he waved me off.
"You can pay me back later," he called, throwing me a sweater and some jeans. "Now get changed while I make you coffee and some breakfast."
Snatching the clothes out of midair, I closed the door. I changed quickly, trying hard to keep my balance in such a small space. After my first night in the apartment when Connor and I shared a bed, we had moved my air mattress into his room so that I could keep my promise of it only being one night while ensuring that I wouldn't have to sleep in a room alone. It was amazing not having to sleep on the floor, and I loved knowing that if I had a nightmare or anything else, Connor was only a few feet away. I smiled at the thought of this, quickly fixing my hair before going to join Connor for coffee.
Walking to the mall seemed a little far-fetched, especially when we planned to spend the entire day there, so instead we decided to brave the traffic and took Connor's car. I quickly took control of the music, flipping through stations until I found one that played a lot of the music that I knew and turned it up, letting myself belt along and dance. I could feel Connor begin to grin next to me, my excitement rolling off of me and affecting the entire atmosphere of the car. By the time we had pulled into the mall parking lot, Connor was singing along with me to the songs that he knew and smiling at me as I sang the songs he didn't. It was peaceful and nice to be able to do one of my old favorite things again. Pulling into a parking spot, Connor turned the radio off without waiting for the song to finish.
"Connorrrr," I whined, pouting at him while he smirked.
"What?" He said, faking innocence. "We have stuff to do." I pouted as he got out of the car, but I followed, trailing close behind him as we headed towards the mall entrance.
I was uncomfortable with shopping at first, watching prices carefully and not touching anything if it wasn't on sale, but the longer we shopped, the more natural it became for me. Connor was quick to remind me that I didn't really need to watch prices now, and he was patient with me as I figured out sizing and styles that I would want to wear. By 5 o'clock, I had everything that I would need, minus the basic things that we knew Connor had extras of at his apartment.
"Let's stop for dinner," Connor suggested as we loaded my bags into the car. "You choose the place."
"Okay?" I answered, climbing into the passenger seat. "Um, whatever you want is good?"
"Chipotle it is," he laughed.
Grabbing our food, we decided to walk to the park to watch the sunset. Connor was acting weird on the way there, with his inability to set his phone down and an unusual jumpiness. I wanted to say something, to ask if he was okay, but I didn't want to upset him. What if he's just over me? Instead, I just quietly sulked behind him, trying not to be hurt by his actions.
Connor finally put his phone away when we got to the park, which I loved, but I was still on edge. All my fears flew out the window almost immediately though when I caught a glimpse of the park. It was set up like a stereotypical romantic date, something that I hadn't ever personally seen. It was almost magical in a way; fairy lights hung on trees, bushes, and benches with a white table set up in the middle of it all. A bouquet of flowers lay atop the table.
"Oh... My god," I said, completely taken aback.
"Do you like it?" Connor asked anxiously. It'll look better once the sun sets, but we were running slightly ahead of my schedule and I thought watching the sunset here would be nice, but I didn't think about the fairy lights and-"
"Connor," I said, placing my hand on his arm to stop his babbling. "It's fine. I love it. It's beautiful." He blushed, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Should we eat?"
"Of course, my dear sir," he said, making his elegance overly dramatic and almost comical while still being sweet. I giggled as he pulled my chair out for me in an over the top sweeping motion.
"Thank you, kind sir," I curtsied daintily before plopping down in the chair, letting Connor push it back into the table.
Dinner was fun and laid back, with lot of laughter and stories from our childhoods. It made me want to fall more in love with him, but I held myself back. The sun began to set, and Connor was right; the fairy lights became that much more magical.
"So I didn't just bring you here for a magical dinner..." Connor finally said once the sun was almost completely set, fidgeting nervously with his hands. "I have a question for you."
"Okay?" I replied, confused; this could either be very good or very bad. To my surprise, Connor turned around to take out a wrapped box, placing it gently in front of me.
"Open it," he urged me gently when I just stared at it, and I hesitantly reached up to tear at the paper gently. Inside, nestled in tissue paper, was a dark, redwood frame. A picture of Connor and I stared up at me, a picture I didn't know existed. It was taken at the office during one of the photoshoots, though it clearly wasn't one of the professional shots. Connor stood with a camera hung around his neck, laughing as I clung to his arm. I was laughing too, and using Connor to hold myself up. There was so much joy captured in one picture that I couldn't help but smile.
"This is beautiful," I smiled, looking back up at Connor with the picture frame hugged to my chest.
"Just like you," he replied quietly, returning my smile. "Troye, will you be my boyfriend?" I stared at him in shock, my face flushing red. He wants to date me?
"Yes! Oh my god, umm, of course!" I rambled before he could change his mind, standing up quickly to give him a hug, Full smiles were on both of our faces as we innocently sat there, me on Connor's lap, as the sky continued to darken and stars appeared. We sat there, saying nothing as we stared into each other's' eyes.
"Can I kiss you?" Connor finally said softly, brushing my cheek with his hand. Blushing, I nodded and wrapped my arms around his neck as he leaned in. Our lips connected in an innocent kiss that made my head spin. Finally, Connor pulled back to look at me.
"Hi," he smiled, making me giggle.
"Hi," I replied, burying my head in his neck. We sat there in silence for a long time, taking the time to just breath each other in. Soon, Connor had caught me yawning and decided it was time to call it a night. He held my hand all the way home, partially to help support my half-asleep body and partially just because he could. Once we got back to the apartment, Connor made sure I got changed into my pyjamas and had gotten into bed before starting his night time routine, and by the time he turned out the lights, I was already half asleep.
"G'nite, love," he said softly, placing a light kiss on my forehead before crawling into bed. I hummed and sighed contentedly in response, snuggling into my blankets and letting a happy sleep overtake me.
A/N- I said I didn't think I could post today, but look at me, I did it! But this week is gonna be crazy- I'll be in rehearsal until 6 every day, and then Friday I have a show and won't be home until 9 and Saturday I have a theater competition and another show, so I porbably won't upload until Sunday or maybe later depending
