Raph POV
"Sensei," I said two months later. Amaya had warmed up to my brothers and Master Splinter. "I think Amaya is ready for her mask."
"Yes...and no." Sensei said. That always meant no.
"Sorry kiddo," Amaya frowned at my news. She kicked a rock and it almost hit her square in the head, but her cat reflexes enabled her to catch it between her two paws. Throwing it up in the air she kicked it into the wall where it split in two. She was skilled enough. Maybe not ready for a weapon but at least for a mask. "Training is all we can do to get you a mask." She nodded and followed me to the dojo.
She moved swiftly, her tail holding her balance. I had yet to see such grace in one person, but as Donnie would probably say She has the grace of a cat and a dancer combined in her DNA or something like that. Amaya told me she had been a dancer, the best in her class.
"Hey, Raphael?" I looked into her beautiful baby blue eyes.
"You know you can call me Raph, right kiddo?" She looked away.
"I know, but why are you so nice to me? The way your brothers talk you should've at least tried to kill me once by now." She looked down at her feet. I didn't believe that my brothers were talking about me that way, especially in front of Amaya. She was smaller than us, she was way more jumpy than us. I didn't want to scare her away.
I sighed and hugged her tight, "Well squirt, you're one of the only people, if not the only person who doesn't get on my nerves like they do." I ruffled her hair and she followed me to the dojo.
Mikey POV
Without them knowing it I watched the two train. Amaya had climbed Ralph's shell while he was frantically searching for her. It wasn't until it was too late that she bounced off his head and was standing in the dojo floor with both of his sais. I couldn't help but giggle at her attempt to fight Raph. She would defiantly be killed by him.
"Why you little stinker," Raph hissed, the tails of his mask shooting up in the air as he chased after her.
The little dudette ran quickly, a lot faster than I think my brothers and I ever could. Definitely faster than Raph, as he quickly tired out. When it was clear that my hot-headed brother wasn't going to get back up she pounced on him trapping his hand in the opening of the sais. I couldn't take it any longer, Raph had just been defeated by a twelve-year-old girl. None of us could beat him except maybe Leo, but this girl used her smarts and beat him. So I laughed hard.
"MIKEY!" Raph hissed. That was my cue to start running. Little dudette bounced off of my older brother and he came flying through the door of the dojo.
"LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!" I Screeched, hoping the oldest of us dudes would come to my rescue, but he was nowhere to be found. Raph pinned me to the ground.
"Say it," He growled pulling my arm forcing out a whimper.
"Raph is the greatest ninja ever and I am just a poor excuse next to him."
"And?"
"And you deserve to be the leader."
Amaya was rolling around laughing when my other bros walked in the room. Quickly my lil sis straightened herself up as if nothing had happened and pulled Donnie along to his lab.
Donnie POV
"What am I learning about today D?" Amaya asked still holding her tiny paw in my larger green hand. The way she was looking at me with such soft and happy eyes her light blue eyes seemed to pour into me like a soft wave lapping over a sandy shore.
It was hard not to blush from that look. "Well, what do you want to learn?"
Her eyes widened. "Anything I want?"
"Anything you want." I repeated her.
"I wanna learn how the mutagen works. I need to know how I became a cat lady person thing."
How could I explain something like this to her when I hadn't completely started to understand the science behind the mutagen. "Well Amaya, I will try the best I can...." I started. "I don't know everything about mutagen quite yet. I will try my best."
Leo POV
Amaya was growing. Soon she wouldn't be so little anymore. I sighed. I wish she could just stay small like forever. She was such a big help. Always wanting to learn new stuff while making as much trouble as she could.
"Leonardo?" She crawled up my shell. "Why am I a cat, and Splinter a rat but the rest of you are all turtles?"
"That's a story for another time," she smiled looking over my shoulder at her. "Right now it's time for you to sleep."
Splinter cleared his throat. "Sensei," the five of us bowed and Amaya crawled down from my shell.
"Sons," Sensei started before looking at Amaya. "And daughter, Amaya step forward." Our sister did and Sensei took a silver mask from behind his back. He turned her around and put the mask on her face.
I've never seen her smile so wide. "Thank you father."
