Chapter Five

Hide's pov;

   I panted heavily, my head hung low and I was resting my hands on my knees.

"I'm lost," I murmured, and continued to catch my breath.

It wasn't until I saw red liquid slowly puddle at my shoes that I realized I was resting in an endless alleyway. I took a step back seeing the liquid was thick and more came from ahead of me. Wet, chewing like sounds came from the same area where the blood was.

I felt paralyzed; I was paralyzed. I saw the figure come closer, it was a woman. She had purple hair and tentacle mutations flowing from her upper back. I began to anxiously sweat, trying to move but it was like I was glued to the ground.

She giggled as she neared, holding someone, who was unconscious, by the collar of their shirt, dragging them along the ground. I tried to push back to break away but none of my attempts succeeded. I shut my eyes tightly refusing to open them and heard the sound of a stab, and a thud on the ground. My eyes shot my open when I felt the wind of the drop and I saw the mysterious woman was now lying on the ground, a bulky man with a Jason mask towering over her limp body, and the body she was dragging was at my feet. I panicked seeing that it was someone I knew too well to mistake.

"Kaneki!" I was alarmed and suddenly I could move.

I dropped to my knees and shook his unconscious body. His hair suddenly turned from black to white. I blinked rapidly trying to comprehend what the hell is going on, but it only gave me a headache. I reached over to pick him up when I noticed I was covered in blood. It dripped from my hands onto Kaneki's, now, bare body. My urge to vomit intensified and I felt dizzy.

"W-We need to get out of here. K-Kaneki, wake up!" I shook his unconscious body, tears slipping from my stinging eyes.

The blood stained his porcelain skin and I began to cry more. I put his arm around my shoulders, feeling weak in the core of my stomach. I shakily stood up and the blood on the ground began to pool around us.

I turned around and began to stumble as I carried the both of us. I felt a cold wind blow up my spine and I suddenly had no clothes on. My head felt heavy and I felt the vomit rise. I continued to struggle and stagger to the end of the alleyway but it only seemed to get further the closer I got.

I was violently sobbing by now and couldn't support Kaneki and I any longer. I fell to the ground, using the rest of my strength to gently lay Kaneki down.

I began to sob, loudly, "I-I'm sorry, Kaneki. I-I can't go any further," I rasped out, shaking my head and screwing my eyes shut.

"What the hell is going on?!" I shouted, it pained my throat and my chest tightened, squeezing my heart.

My shoulders shuddered as I hugged myself and felt the blood on my hands rub onto my back. It made me feel sick.

Hide! A muffed voice in my head rang through my ears, giving me more of a headache. I covered my ears and cried my pain away.

Kaneki was now in front of me, standing and was perfectly fine but he now had the same tentacle shaped mutations the purple haired apparition had. Kaneki towered over me and his mutations formed a shield over me.

Hide! The voice demanded again. It only increased my amount of pain and tears. I looked around, weakly, seeing there were mysterious people hidden in the shadows with black eyes and red irises, staring at me but due to Kaneki protecting me they stayed back. I ran my hands through my hair and gripped it tightly, seeing blood pool at Kaneki's feet and it flowed toward me.
