I pressed the keypad on my phone and dialled in the number of the local taxi company. My whole body was shaking uncontrollably and my vision was blurry due to my tears. I pressed the call button and held the phone to my ear.

"Hello North Rambrooke taxi's how can I help you?" A muffled voice said as she picked up the phone.

"I-I-I need a taxi to the flats by the old library. I need it ASAP!" I said, the fear still echoed through my voice.

"Calm down love, what's your address so we can send the taxi to you?" The operator said. I mumbled my address and waited for the taxi. It seemed to be taking forever. I checked my phone. I'd been waiting twenty minutes already. Why was it taking so long? I sighed and then I started to run. I ran to the old library. After running halfway there, my legs ached with each and every stride but I couldn't stop. I had to get there and save my brother! I had to stop, I couldn't run any further. I looked up whilst taking deep breaths. I couldn't believe it, I was there!

I caught my breath and then ran the last few steps to the barrier surrounding the building. Workmen were stood in front of the building whilst men in lorries and cranes prepared their vehicles for the demolition of the building. A tall man in a smart black suit stood with the workmen, a clipboard in his hand. I guessed he was in charge so I ran towards him.

"You can destroy this building! There's somebody in there!" I yelled as I got closer to the man. He turned to face me.

"Go home little girl, you're being ridiculous. Nobody is inside that building, it's been abandoned for years." He rolled his eyes at me and sent me on my way. Why didn't he believe me? I was telling the truth! At least I thought I was. I had to get in there somehow but my chances were very slim. Suddenly, I remembered about the back entrance of the building. I ran round to the door and tried to open it. I was too weak but I didn't stop! I had to get in that building! After using all of my strength, the door started to open. I couldn't give up now, I was so close! I pulled at the door as it flung open. I ran inside.

"Joey!" I screamed, my voice echoing round the empty walls.

"Help me!" I heard Joey's cry coming from upstairs. I darted to the stairs and hauled myself up them.
