Felicia peeked through my phone and found his number before I had a chance to snatch it back.
"Ah, ha!" Quickly she pushed my phone up to her face, "he sent you a picture of himself!"
Whatever my sister was getting at, I'm sure I was miles away from it because I had literally no idea what was going on. A picture?
Sighing, I mumbled, "Felicia, it's a freakin contact picture."
"And you didn't send one back?" I shook my head, then went in for my phone once more. My sister dodged my hand and squeaked, "Lani, then how is he supposed imagine you every time you text or call?"
My grim, pale face. A lanky potato. A flat chested cucumber with a black swimsuit, pick something.
"Believe me, we see each other enough." I managed to take the phone back. I eyed the picture of Mathew; he was smiling, not a grin, or the usual scowl he puts on, no, just a small smile.
"He looks like sexy there."
"Yeah, he does." I quietly said then shot my red face to Felicia. "W-wait, I didn't mean to say that."
"But ya did. So what? He is cute."
"And a pain in my ass." I added.
"Bitch, you're not such a sweet cup of tea either."
"Look who's talking."
With an offended hand to her chest, Felicia makes the most theatrical face she could muster, "How dare you. Hank likes this kicking shot of Patron right here, thank you very much!"
Mentally rolling my eyes, she drags me to the next dreadful activity:
getting a pedicure.
After dealing with that whole mess I still had to go home and pack things up for the trip out to the beach. My mother buzzed around my room till with a soft foot, I kicked her out. Then, both Joan, and Mary kept wanting to see me in the new swimwear; they kept ranting on and on through the door cracks how unfair it was that they couldn't go.
The phone buzzed, and I knew he was on his way.
Suddenly the most wicked grin slid across my face.
Yeah, why can't they go?
