NINE THE PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT YOU
━━━━━━━ ・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧・KAYLEY KNEW THE BOY WAS BEGINNING TO WAKE UP WHEN HE LIFTED HIS HEAD and took the hand that was on her waist only a second ago to rub his morning eyes. Strangely, she was disappointed when he moved it away and the smile that was awkwardly plastered on her face a second ago now turned into a frown; she hoped this would go unnoticed.
"What time is it?" He turned his head to the girl and spoke, with an attitude like
them waking up like this was the most casual thing in the world - like it happened every day. Kayley found that she didn't mind this behavior."Five past eight." She glanced at her watch and answered. They'd barely gotten four hours sleep.
"So, breakfast?" This time she looked at him too and his question completely evaporated from her head as she observed his face, his features and how his scruffy morning hair suited him a lot more than she ever thought it would. When Dylan waved a hand in front of her face, she blinked and was brought back to reality; Kayley was well aware that she had just completely got lost in her thoughts of the dark haired boy and she predicted that he was too. Kayley felt her face flush and looked down to hide her embarrassment but she knew it was too late for that when a chuckle escaped the boy's lips. Kayley mentally cursed herself before lifting her head again to see a smile on his face. "I'll go make pancakes." Kayley forced a smile and sighed. He pulled the blanket back and got up to walk towards the kitchen whilst Kayley rolled her eyes at her stupidity and fell back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling. Dylan felt the smile linger at the thought of Kayley checking him out, so much so that he almost poured the pancake batter onto the floor.
Kayley heard Dylan curse from the kitchen and laughed to herself before walking to the kitchen. "What did you do now?" She rolled her eyes in amusement.
He looked at her with a teasing straight face, apparently annoyed with himself. "I almost dropped the pancake on the floor."
"Let me guess. You tried to be clever and flip it but then at the last minute, you realized that you actually couldn't do it and you tried to catch the pancake quickly before it dropped on the floor and you had to admit to a hungry girl that breakfast would take just a little bit longer?" Kayley sat on one of the bar stool seats and leaned her elbow, with her hand on her chin on the kitchen work surface as she spoke to prove to him that he knew him 'all-too-well' by now.
"Ha. Well you can't be that hungry because if I recall, when I asked you if you wanted breakfast, you were sort of oblivious." When Kayley only stared at him in response, he raised his eyebrows and bit his lip - obviously trying to prove that he knew she was staring at him.
"Don't flatter yourself O'Brien, I was staring because you had something on your face." She rolled her eyes in an attempt to shrug off his accusation.
