ONE AUDITION ANXIETY

WITH ONLY ONE MORE DAY TO GO UNTIL HER BIG AUDITION, Kayley had the intention of staying home and getting as much rest as possible so she was prepared. However, this plan soon changed when she heard the familiar ringtone and the name Phoebe appear on the phone resting on top of her pillow. Phoebe was her best friend, someone she'd met towards the beginning of her career and who had been by her side ever since; this was back when Phoebe was leaving Nickelodeon and searching for her big break before getting the part of Hayley on The Originals and Kayley was recording her debut album. The taller brunette had been excited about the two being in similar TV shows since Kayley had told her she were auditioning for a new role in Teen Wolf, but her best friend was doing everything she could not to get her hopes up. Nevertheless, she still answered the phone putting on the best-fake-excited-voice that she could.

"Hey Phoebs. Whats up?" She said, forcing her head up off of pillow and blinking her eyes open a few times over to fully wake up.

"Me. You. Shopping. Today. We are getting you an outfit for your audition tomorrow. You have to look hot but not slutty, classy but not prude, pretty but not-"

"Okay, Phoebe, it's an audition. I think jeans a t-shirt will be fine. But thanks anyway. Look, Phoebe, I appreciate you calling but–"

     "It's rude to interrupt. Shh."

     "I think you're the one–"

"Kal, shh. I'm not taking no for an answer."

     "Phoebs, I don't need new–"

"Kal!" At that, Kayley knew she had no chance of winning against the boisterous attitude of her best friend. Her face fell flat on the pillow and her body gave up in defeat. Despite her best friend carrying on talking, Kayley had officially stopped listening. "So are you in?"

"Yeah, course." As expected, Kayley had no idea what she was agreeing to.

"Yay! I'll be there in twenty."

"Yeah, sure, whatev–" When she realized what her friend on the other line had said, her head rose once again from the pillow with wide eyes. "NO. Wait, Phoebe, I–" But she had already put the phone down. With a groan, she instructed her hands to pull the duvet away from her body and move towards her wardrobe to get ready.

Right on cue, the doorbell rang just as she had finished putting her top over her head.

     "Coming!"

But it rang yet again. "I'm coming."

"OH MY GOD PHOEBE, I'M COMING!" She opened it, only to see Phoebe grinning from ear to ear.
