"Is she still asleep?"
"What do you expect? She'll be hungover - she's going to be in a fucking bad mood."
My eyes shot open.
And that awful headbanging pain had returned. My head was thudding and I half-moaned as I wriggled around some uncomfortable and unknown bedding. I slowly prised open my eyes, groaning in pain, feeling horribly groggy and disgusting.
This was a feeling that I was getting far too often.
"Hey, I think she's awake!"
Richard flung himself into the room, grinning and observing me as if I were some rare animal in a zoo. Okay, that sounds inappropriate, but you get my point.
"Why are you in my room?!" I yelled, my voice rising and heating up. Nowadays, I could actually tell if I was going to get angry, it was quite disconcerting.
"Actually, it's not your room, it's your boyfriend's," Richard said, matter-of-factly, looking very smug indeed, his arms folded across his chest.
I laughed sarcastically. "Since when do I - oh my GOD!" I yelled and bolted upright and sprung out of my bed.
My boyfriend.
My absolutely wonderfully fabulous boyfriend.
I darted out the room and I saw Max standing outside the room in the hallway, leaning against the wall, with a smug look smeared across his face. He grinned and pointed towards the direction of the kitchen. I smiled and skipped happily, like a little girl in preschool.
Nath was with Seev, who was trying to cheer him up. Nathan's face looked surprisingly blank and lost. I met eyes with Siva who couldn't help to let a little grin slip out, and I began creeping upon Nathan. I then backhugged him, despite the fact he was shirtless, and he yelped like a girl. The other guys were standing at the kitchen entrance and laughed loudly at Nathan's rather (highly) feminine response.
I gave him a cheeky little peck on his cheek. I could see his smile stretching and he turned around. He wrapped his arms around me and I rested my head onto his chest and looked up to him.He looked down onto me to meet my eyes and grinned. I closed my eyes and snuggled into his chest.
"I love you so, so, so much Nathan Sykes," I mumbled into him. He tightened his grip and gently tucked his chin into the groove of my shoulder, and softly whispered into my ear.
"I love you so, so, so, so, so very much, Minnie Liu," he whispered. I could feel his heartbeat accelerating, his skin was heating up; such a plethora of emotions we were swimming around in, but I knew I loved him to the moon and back, endlessly.
I heard a snort and my neck snapped upright. It was Jay leaning against the doorway of the kitchen, sipping his coffee. He grinned when he saw me. "Lovebirds, get a room," he laughed, as I shot him daggers, but my stare was cut short when he shot me some straight back and I faltered and I laughed.
"Fine, we will," Nathan said. He sounded sarcastic, though I could sense he may have been partly serious. Nathan put his arm round my waist and began leading me to his room, Jay giving me a cheeky wink as I left. I smiled sheepishly back to him.
Nathan pulled me into his room and gently shut the door. He then faced me. "I would like to have a little chat with you," he said, still smiling.
We sat face to face on the bed, cross-legged, like little kids. Except he couldn't cross his legs, and instead had one stretched right out.
"I just wanted to properly apologise to you," he said, looking at me straight in the eyes. "About everything. I talked to Jay a lot about it. And I understand that you saw and read stuff online and made a judgement - a judgement I'd probably have concluded exactly like you did. I'm so sorry, Min, really, really sorry. When you wanted to break up with me, things started to crumble around me."
I smiled, and reached out for his hands and held them tightly. "I understand completely," I said softly, and I could sense his fingers wavering. His eyes moistened, his face weakening. "I know you know this, but I'll say it again: I'm new to this dating thing, I'm new to even socialising properly. And I'm from such a firm, strict household with so much control and knowledge. It makes me paranoid and easily judgemental and somewhat jealous. Plus, media is controlled so stringently and I'm not used to this freedom. I'm slow with adapting, I know, but I'm learning. I'm trying to be more open and I'm sorry if it's burdening you in any way at all."
Nathan smiled but couldn't prevent tears spurting out his eyes. I gently placed my hands around his face and wiped away the tears with my thumbs. He lifted his eyes to see to mine and grinned. Suddenly he pulled me down so I was lying next to him - I yelped and he laughed, tears still speckled on his face. He shifted to his side to face me, and tucked a strand of my hair behind me ear, looking at me.
"This is why I love you, Minnie Liu," he said softly, his voice low and smooth.
I didn't say anything. I didn't need to.
I smiled, and leant in towards him, my arms wrapping around his neck, his arms round my waist, our lips meeting.
