OMG ITS BEEN SO LONG I HONESTLY FORGOT I HAD THIS BUT LEMME POST A LIL SOMETHING I HAD SAVED FROM WHOEVER CREDS TO A TUMBLR I DONT REMEMBER SORRYYYYY ok here we goooo💗🙌🏾👌🏾

Your family rented a cabin by the beach. Your dad was fishing, while your mom was setting up beach towels and umbrellas and the rest of your family were out on the beach. They invited you to come along, but the moment you saw a seashell laying in the sand, you want to see more and collect them to take them home.

"Don't go too far (y/n)! Be careful!" your mother called for you as she saw you make your way down the shore on your own. You turned around and told her you would be fine and began to run along the soft sand in search of more shells like the one you had just found.

The few shells you found were small, some broken and chipped. You frowned as you

Saw a gathering of flat rocks and boulders near on an outpoint of the ocean. You walked over and carefully leaned over the edge of the rocks. The ocean's water was clear enough for you to see bright fish and coral at the distance, but you never attempted to get closer, since you didn't know how to swim. You saw a few colorful fish swim by easily capturing your attention. You tried to spot them and see where they were going, but as you looked farther you stretched more and more. You suddenly squealed as you leaned too far and fell into the ocean. You felt water fill your lungs, and you began thrashing in the water hoping that maybe you would instantly know how to swim. But you failed, you did however try to stick your head out of the water as much as you could at least getting some air, hoping that someone would see you and get you out the water.

Your arms were beginning to get tired, not used to this sort of strain, but as soon as you stopped trying you felt something guide you to shore. You felt something wrap around your arm almost like someone pulling you but you kept your eyes closed not wanting any of the salty water to burn your eyes. You were placed back on one of the rocks that you were standing in earlier and coughed out all the water you swallowed. You waited a bit as you began to normally breathe and turned around and saw a boy around your age with wet sandy blonde hair and mesmorizing hazel colored eyes.

You began to wring out your clothes and hair, and saw that your shells were on another rock.

"Are you an idiot? Why would you go into the ocean when you can't swim", the boy said as he looked up at you.

"I am not stupid! I fell in by accident! I was looking for shells!" you snapped until she looked down "I was..." you were about to continued until you saw something that left you speechless.

You saw a red fin where his feet should have been.

"You're a mermaid!" you said enthusiastically almost wanting to reach into the water to touch his fin, but you were a bit scared to do that given what just occurred.

"MERMAN!!" he yelled back, obviously not wanting to be referred to as a girl.

"Oops" you murmured and looked down still amazed by his red tail.

Ashton looked over and saw your shells on the rock. They were ugly, broken and cracked, and looked up at you, calming down a bit. "I'm going to get you a better shell than those" he nodded and dived down. He saw a pretty (favorite color) conch nesting near some coral and grabbed it. He rushed up and held it out to you. You smiled wide and took it. Ashton looked up at your smiling face, he couldn't see the reason why his people would be afraid of your kind. You seemed kind in his eyes, and easily amused by things that he and his friends see everyday, but seeing you smile made something in him want to make you smile for as long as he could.
