I unlocked the front door and quickly headed inside. I had been at school all day and was super tired. I was also pretty upset because I hadn't seen or heard from my boyfriend, Vernon , all day due to his training. I was greeted by Dodam, who purred and wrapped himself around my legs.
"Hey, buddy," I bent over and scratched Dodam behind the ears. "Where's Vernon?"
Dodam just meowed.
"Well, you're no help," I laughed.
"(Y/N)? Is that you?" Vernon skidded around the corner, barreling into me.
"It's good to see you, too," I clung onto him as he spun me around.
"How was school?" He put me down, placing my hands in his.
"It was alright," he led me to the lounge room, Dodam trailing behind. "How was practice?"
"It was good. Woozi didn't kill any of us today, so that's a plus," we laughed, sitting on the couch.
"Do you want something to eat? To drink?" Vernon grinned, hugging me and being all cute.
Dodam jumped up onto my lap ad curled himself up into a ball, purring contentedly.
"Umm, I'm fine, thanks," I raised an eyebrow. "Why are you two being like this?"
"Like what?" Vernon smiled cheekily.
"Like that! Firstly, Dodam is never this happy with seeing me. I'm surprised that he's still here!" I patted Dodam to prove my point. "And you, my friend, are being really hyper at the moment. You're also acting all cute and mushy- well, more than usual. Did Joshua give you sugar? Is there something I'm missing out on?"
Vernon just giggled, kissing my cheek. "Wait here." He jumped up, off the couch, running towards the bedroom.
"He's insane," I told Dodam, who purred in response.
"Close your eyes!" Vernon yelled from the bedroom.
I was so confused, but obliged, shutting my eyes tightly. I heard Vernon shuffle into the room.
"Yah~ Dodam, get off (Y/N) please!" I felt Dodam jump off my lap. "Thanks! Now, (Y/N), I got you a gift! I really hope you love it!" He placed a large box on my lap. "You can open your eyes now!"
I did, and saw a large, red and white box with a white ribbon wrapped around it.
"Thank you! But what for?" I pulled the ribbon off.
"Nothing in particular. I saw it at the shops and thought of you, so I bought it," he said, smiling. "Now open it!"
"Alright, al- oh my god. You didn't," my eyes widened in shock.
He laughed, "I did."
I pulled my gift out of its box, and held it in my hands. It was a tiny, fluffy white kitten; purring softly in my arms.
"It's so cute!" Vernon moved the box so I could put her on my lap.
"She's all yours. What are you gonna name her?" Vernon patted the kittens head.
"Ummmm..." I thought hard. "Dubu. That's a good name, right?"
Vernon nodded. I looked down at little Dubu, my brain trying to process what was going on. I looked at the box she came in, realising there were no holes in it.
"Wait. How long was she in that box for?" I looked up at Vernon .
His eyes widened, understanding what I was trying to say.
"Don't worry, I only just put her in the box, I swear! She was in our room the whole time."
"Ok," I laughed.
Vernon grinned, patting Dodam, who had decided to crawl onto his lap. I smiled happily as I watched Dubu clumsily crawl around on my lap.
"Thank you so much, Hansol. She's adorable and I love her and I love you and thank you!" I leant over and pecked him on the lips.
Vernon blushed and looked down at Dodam, clearly embarrassed. "You're welcome. I, umm, love you too."
"Awwwww, you're blushing. Cutiepie." I laughed, poking his cheek.
"Yah~~ I'm not cute, I'm manly!" He tried to be manly and failed, making me laugh.
"Sure."
Vernon grinned. Dubu meowed, pawing at my shirt.
"Aww, so cute! I think she's hungry, where'd you put her food?" Vernon's smile vanished.
"Umm, I'll be right back!"
