One day,
A child was born,
In her gentle arms, you rested,
A joyful smile played,
Whispering she'll always stay.
One day,
You took your first steps,
Towards him,
Towards the harsh world,
He said he'll catch you when you fall,
Everything's going to be okay.
One day,
A bond was formed,
Laughter was shared,
Pinky promises were made,
To think it all started with a "hey."
One day,
You finally understood,
When you found the other's gaze,
Chemistry was fascinating,
Two hearts became one,
Not once you thought it was a cliché.
One day,
They brought others,
They loved less,
Too busy to notice,
Hurling you in a cage,
And you had no say.
One day,
Friends became the latest styles,
You were old-fashioned,
Pointing fingers to blame,
Polarity was your defect,
Everyone said you were astray.
One day,
That fire within burned,
That spark faded,
Lies were your connection,
Love was the villian,
It was game over,
When your heart started to decay.
One day,
You only saw red,
Along with the tears you shed,
Desperation filled your head,
Patience hanging on a thread,
Wishing you were dead,
You're only halfway.
One day,
You plan to escape,
And never look back,
You'll pack your bags,
Disappear into the world ahead,
Bury the pain,
Change it to color instead of grey.
