We've always been enemies,
I'm the back,
He's the knife,
Trapped between his parentheses.
We were polars,
I love the silence,
He loves the thunder,
People think I'm bipolar.
He's my soul-shattering mate,
The anonymous twin,
Never to appear,
Unless to fill my head with hate.
We weren't introduced,
He slept beside me,
When my eyes were closed,
He played with me,
Only when I got abused.
Invisible to the eyes,
He makes his presence known,
When I cry,
Whispers in my ear,
Lies in disguise.
Into my life, he was born,
When I was born anew,
Misled, until I became torn,
Did it make him happy?
It was his purpose, he had sworn.
Over my gleeㅡhe constantly towered,
No more, no more,
I was no coward.
With an insightful gun and a shielded heart,
Weaklings to soldiers, my army flowered,
Too immersed into the battles,
My sweet smile had soured.
Emotions became my greatest adversary,
The numbness had overpowered.
Then he vanished,
His job was done,
My soul had perished,
Able to move on,
Because I was already damaged.
The tears that I have shed,
Forever he cherished,
I was his biggest obstacle,
He eventually vanquished.
Traces of him lingered,
Reminding me that I was tarnished,
He was gone,
A fact I hadn't quite established.
Once upon a time,
A tragic story,
A soldier who won the war,
But didn't find any glory,
Because she lost what she fought for.
