Claudia's Pov-
I drug my feet down my stairs. I did this every night, sleep talking, sleep walking, sleep anything. My mom knew I did this almost every night so she told me to start closing my doors before I slept, that had only worked for a good month. And in that time I would rearrange things in my room and hide things from myself.

Then I started opening doors, going down the steps, eventually waking up in a random spot. Usually my mom is still up so she takes me back upstairs but tonight she was out of town and my brother, Clarence (such an odd name) had been out drinking... As per usual.  So I was just roaming the house I guess.

I remember actually waking up, not being half asleep. The door was opened, not a lot, just a bit. I was scared at first but I remembered that it was probably Clarence who foolishly left it opened a tad.

"Clarence!" I yelled up the steps after closing the door.
"Clarence did you leave the door open? You know you shouldn't do that!" I yelled, I don't know if he was so drunk that he was now passed out or if he just didn't hear me.

"Fucking idiot..." I mumbled as I walked into the kitchen.

My kitchen was more of a hallway instead of an open space. It's shaped like an L. The oven and microwave are in the corner and a bunch of cabinets line the sides. I grabbed a cup and filled it with water before placing the cup into the sink to be washed.

As I was walking back I saw a figure, taller than me. They were facing the opposite way and their back was towards me. I ducked myself behind my table as I watched. I swear, it felt freezing cold here now, like everything was cold to the touch. I was wearing an oversized shirt with just my underwear and an undershirt, typical for me.

The figure shifted, allowing me to get a better look but I couldn't see their face. It almost looked like Clarence? I knew it definitely wasn't a girl, that was obvious. He started inspecting the pictures that lined my walls. Each step he took towards a different picture meant another step towards me.

I was honestly terrified, not knowing whether I was still dreaming or awake. It seemed so real yet something about it made me think it was fake. I couldn't pinpoint it exactly but something just seemed off.

He took a step towards the last picture frame, examining it closely. I was now hidden under the table instead of behind it, I could only see his legs from my view. I heard him pick a frame off of the wall which had me thinking about which picture was hung up last. What was the big event that had that picture placed in the wall. I thought for a moment but then I realized what it was... My graduation photo.

I let out a small gasp as he came closer, I could now see that this wasn't Clarence. This person had come from outside, their shoes were muddy and there was clumps of dirt on the floor from where he had been standing. My heart was now pumping and his feet stopped moving. I put my hand over my mouth to silence the quiet sobs that escaped.

He was now about 2 feet away from me, I could practically hear his breathing. I stayed hidden, hoping he would soon leave my house so I can go back to sleep. Soon the feet started walking back when I heard him fumbling, I soon saw the picture frame smash on the ground and shards of glass were everywhere.

"Fuck..." I heard him mumble, I was now praying that there was enough shade under this table and tablecloth to hide me.

The boy bent over and started picking up the shards, piece by piece. Looking around for the picture that flew out of it. And... With my horrible luck.. I was stuck under that damn table with the picture literally right in front my feet. I let out a shaky breath as I watched him, praying that he wouldn't see the picture.
