Sacrifices Must Be Made

Gray winced as he tried to sit up. His eyes darted around the burnt down library. It was in pieces. He couldn't see any bodies so that was a plus.

Levy, Gajeel, Lucy, Natsu and Juvia were gone. He could faintly see a male figure hidden behind the smoke and flames. But as it got closer he could make out his features.

Deathly pale skin, onyx eyes, black hair and clothes. Gray didn't know what it was about him but the name that immediately came to his mind was...

Zeref.

There were police sirens in the distance. "Fucking Mavis" Zeref mumbled under his breath.

But there was someone else with him, following behind. Long, dark hair, blood red lips, white headband.

Ultear.

Why was she here? And why was she so obedient?! "U-Ultear" he croaked, his voice hoarse in exhaustion and pain. He saw a flash of sympathy in her eyes but it was gone as quickly as it came.

"Come with us Gray, Zeref is a good man. He can protect us!" She said, reaching her hand out to him.

He slapped it away. "What the hell! Ultear, this man is a murderer. He's killed almost three quarters of the worlds population!!"

"But we can stay alive"

Has his sister gone mad in the time he was gone?

"Gray, take my ha-" her sentence was cut short. He stared in horror as Zeref held a sharp knife against her throat. She swallowed, drawing blood as it glided down her neck, staining her white shirt.

"Alright miss Juvia, I know your there" Zeref drawled. Gray's eyes shifted to where the blue haired beauty climbed out from behind a piece of debris. Her heals crunched on the fallen rocks as she made her way over, gun in hand.

"Shoot" he said.

Huh?

Gray seemed to find himself in a similar situation as they had been when they first met. Metal pressed up against his temple. But this was worse.

His sister was ten feet away, screaming at Juvia to let him go. And then the gun was in his palm. She had given it to him.

"Shoot her or I kill the only remaining member of your family" whispered Zeref.

Okay, one more chapter and then epilogue. I think. Maybe. I might make a sequel, I honestly have no idea what would happen though. Whatever, I'll worry about it later. Next chapter will be up soon!!
