AUTHOR'S POV-
Sunlight slipped through the curtains in thin gold lines, landing across tangled sheets and bare shoulders.
Y/N woke first.
For a few seconds, she didn't move.
Didn't breathe.
Because Taehyung's arm was wrapped around her waist.
Not loosely.
Not casually.
Possessively.
His face was buried in her hair, breath warm against her neck, as if even in sleep he refused to let her drift away.
Her heartbeat started again — slow at first... then fast.
Last night wasn't reckless.
It wasn't a mistake.
It was months of tension snapping all at once.
Unspoken longing.
Fights that were never really about anger.
The way his hand would linger too long.
The way she would look away too late.
And now here they were.
No audience.
No parents.
No expectations.
Just them.
She tried to gently move his arm.
It tightened.
A sleepy murmur against her skin.
"Don't."
Her breath caught.
"You're awake?" she whispered.
He didn't answer immediately. Instead, his fingers slowly traced the curve of her waist, grounding himself in the reality that she was still there.
"I thought you'd disappear by morning," he said softly.
There was no arrogance in his voice.
Only vulnerability.
She turned slightly to face him.
His hair was messy.
Eyes heavy.
Expression unguarded.
This was not the man who made reckless public declarations.
This was just Taehyung.
And for the first time, he looked unsure.
"You're not running?" he asked quietly.
She studied him.
This boy who defied his parents.
Who shattered a dinner table with one decision.
Who could face a room of powerful people without blinking—
But feared losing her.
"I'm still here," she said.
And that did something to him.
His hand moved to her cheek.
Slow.
Careful.
Like she might break.
The air changed.
Not heated like last night.
Softer.
Deeper.
"Last night..." he started.
She held his gaze.
"No regrets," she said before he could finish.
His eyes darkened slightly — not with desire, but with emotion.
"You don't get to say that so easily," he murmured. "If we do this... it changes everything."
"It already changed," she replied.
Silence.
Then he leaned forward — not urgent, not hungry — but gentle.
A forehead kiss.
And somehow, that felt more intimate than anything else.
Outside the room, the world was waiting.
His parents.
The consequences.
The storm he started.
But in this quiet morning light, they weren't enemies.
They weren't rebels now.
They were just two people who finally stopped pretending they didn't want each other.
And neither of them knew what today would cost.
