The attack didn't come with shouting.

It came with paperwork.

Which, in the corporate world, was far more dangerous.

Morning sunlight poured through the glass walls of Vanguard Innovations, but the atmosphere inside the executive conference room felt heavy.

Directors sat around the long table, murmuring to each other.

Financial reports were scattered everywhere.

Screens displayed graphs that had suddenly become... unstable.

Y/N stood near the head of the table beside Taehyung, studying the data carefully.

"This isn't normal market fluctuation," she said quietly.

"No," Taehyung replied.

"It isn't."

One of the board members spoke nervously.

"Mr. Kim... Kim Group subsidiaries have started buying Vanguard shares."

Another director added,

"And not just one or two. Several shell companies are acquiring large percentages."

Y/N's eyes narrowed.

"Let me guess," she said dryly. "Those shell companies all trace back to your father."

Taehyung gave a faint, humorless smile.

"Exactly."

A younger analyst looked alarmed.

"If they acquire enough shares..."

"They could force a board vote," Y/N finished.

"And then?"

"Hostile takeover."

The room fell silent.

Because everyone understood what that meant.

If the chairman succeeded—

Taehyung would lose control of his own company.

Taehyung remained calm.

Too calm.

Which meant he was thinking.

Hard.

One of the directors turned to him urgently.

"Sir, what do we do?"

Before he could answer, Y/N stepped forward.

"We stop him."

All eyes shifted to her.

The director frowned slightly.

"With respect, Miss Y/N, this is a billion-dollar move. Kim Group has enormous resources."

She nodded.

"I'm aware."

She tapped the tablet in her hand and projected new numbers onto the screen.

"But they're not buying Vanguard because they want it."

The board members exchanged confused looks.

"Then why?" one asked.

Y/N glanced at Taehyung.

"To remove him."

A quiet realization spread across the room.

This wasn't about business.

It was personal.

Taehyung leaned forward, resting his hands on the table.
