Ch. 8|| Start again

Katniss POV

Going home is one of the task i need to do. I walk down the street and i felt someone watching. I turned in my heel and look who it was. I searched for a person but their is nothing but me. "Strange."

I open the gate of our house and walk inside. I sat on the couch and one of the maids approach me. "Mam, You got home. Have some snack," She offered. I shake my head. "I'm not hungry. Give them to Finnick instead when he got home," I told her and she leave me.

Finnick is busy. He have friends. And I am here, Alone. I walk upstairs to my bedroom and immediately get my iphone 5s and play games. I don't have assignment. But school can get me a head ache.

Sometimes life can be harder. When you know a person, that become different from when i met him. And i don't know if he take it. I'd prayed that he did. That the old Peeta would come back. A new mission I have to do. Make the old Peeta come back.

Now:

Katniss POV

Driving with my car to school. I parked and go ahead before i see again my idiotic brother who'll just boost to girls on how hot is his car is. Pretty much of a pretty boy. ugh. I open my locker and get my things. Not minding much on my surroundings. As i lock my locker, I saw what I want to hide from...Peeta. For the fact that i want him to change...It's still awkward. I have this feeling yet i found it foreign.

"Good Morning?" I greet him in my british accent but it's more of questionable than a normal tone for greeting. He smiled cheekily and i rolled my eyes. "Good morning to you," He greeted back. I walk to the halls not minding him. But he is still following me like a dog. What did he want? I stop and glared at him but to get a reply of his smile. "What do you want, Mr. Mellark?"

"Nothing-"

"Then why follow me like a dog?" I snap. He flinched. He look clearly into my dull grey eyes. The ones that held those sparkly silver eyes in the tender age. But not now, they turned ugly. But his, they're like the ocean with the setting sunset. Calm and hope twinkling to his blueish eyes. "I just want to start again, Katniss," He said in steady tone. Start again. Word of wisdom. Yes. In fact, This two words made me blink twice from where I'm standing.

"Then...I'll give you that," I told him. "Really?" He asked cheerfully. I nod. What i didn't expected is to be...hugged. It's warm and comforting yet It feels like I'm home. I can't let him long this moment. But i can't just let go? Would i? I did it many times.

He pulled from the hug and smiled. "Friends?"

"Friends."

The day go on and Peeta seems didn't want to leave my side. I don't know what got him to be like that. I always catch him looking around like an eagle. All i can do is shrug it off. Sometimes I make excuses to go to cr but when i got off. I always saw Annie with her friend, Johanna. Who always do is glare at me or on anybody.

"Finnick!"

He turned around. With his gruesome smile that i regret everyday that i become his stepsister. Well, who wants a brother who shows himself in front of my bedroom door with his underwear only! Duh. It will be the girls he flirts like...every second. ugh.

"Yes, Sis?" he asked with his wicked smile that i want to punch but I don't want to be scolded by my own father. That'll be no good at all. Not at all. "Stop that wicked smile before I punch you square in the face!" I threatened him. he gulps and puts his serious face masking his smile. "Now, what sis?"

"Peeta and his friends is acting weird. They act like my bodyguards," I said and he looks at me. "So...What?" Quickly, i slap his shoulder. "Ow! Sis!" He winced in pain and rubs where i slap him. i giggled. He glares at me and i stop giggling like an idiot. "well, they weird lately too. i don't get it," he said.

Peeta's Pov

I know this is not the way it is but i need to keep her safe. Away from the problems we have. That's when i got a call from the bitch. I think his smiling with his fix snake eyes. His hissing annoying voice irritates me.

"Oh. boy, you don't know what you getting yourself into," he hissed. I glared at nowhere and clench my fist."What do you mean?"

"The more you get two get closer. The more I like to feast her blood in my hands."
Then the phone call stop. I feel like tons of hot sauce poured in my head. my eyes sweel up. even my teeth bared its anger. I won't let him. He will die before she did. I will not let her die. I can't look to her lifeless eyes. Her cold lifeless body laying there with blood smeared in her walls. If i want to keep her safe, I should step away a little instead. This is killing me. I can't breathe.

I hear her voice. With her step brother, they laugh. She sees me and smiles. I smiled back with a tingling fire in my heart that warms up my whole body. At least for now, She's safe. Like when we are kids back then. Her big silver eyes with her beautiful smile. I miss those. I'm glad she's back.

"Peeta!"

I turned to see a slut coming to my way. I rolled my eyes. A way to ruin my day. My goodness. Can she stop?

"Stay away," I spat at her face. That i wanted to punch anytime now. Where is my gang anyway? They should be here right now. I push the slut away and ran to find my gang. Why can't those sluts understand that I don't like any neither of them? Idiots. I look around to see Katniss and her stepbrother is not in the hallway anymore. Maybe they fled when that slut interrupted me. ugh.

I admit, I still have a crush on her. I don't know why...but i got this feeling in my heart that...she's been in there since we are born. Like a link. I'm being so abnormal. I got pissed then turned into a love sick puppy. What the actual F&#%!

Stop with the cussing. ugh. Maybe I'm bipolar. Well, Gale says I am. Which i can be. But all i really know is...do my best to keep her alive. Before its too late for me...
