Mystic (HIATUS)

Chapter 3: Part 2

Arjhay's POV

I walked out of the tent, Aqua following me, and was greeted by a louder noise, louder than before. "Now, let's all be calm. Okay, fighters ready?", the headmistress said as the sound slowly diminished.

Aqua sat near me as I shout "yes!". "Okay, fight!", she exclaimed again. Rex summoned his weapon, a fiery sword. His guardian was surrounded by fire, probably preparing to fight. "Go Arjhay!", my classmates cheered for me.

"Aqua, can you handle them both first? Just go and fight them for a short while.", I requested to her. "Understood.", she said before walking in front of him. She seemed to focus while closing her eyes. She opened them and with that, a magic circle lit up under her. Water tendrils sprouted from her and she slowly changed appearance. After a while, Aqua finally finished her transformation, making all of the students and teachers watch in awe.

Her once furry body now became scaly with shimmering blue scales. White frills appeared on her neck, along her back and on the back of her four paws. Her tail became a mermaid's tail, swishing cutely.

I just knew she can do that yesterday which surprised me at first. Rex recovered from shock and started sprinting towards me with his wolf.

Aqua intervened by pouncing on their faces and skillfully evading their attacks. I prepared my offense, my cold water. I smirked. While the two attacked Aqua, who skillfully evaded each of their attacks, I started making very cold water. "Aqua!", I shouted. She knew my plan all along and she jumped out of the way.

"Water Form: Cold", I said then shot them the compressed water. They were instantly drenched with very cold water. Their faces pale, lips and body trembling. They both fell down from the unexpected attack. "Our winner, Arjhay Sezfolleria!", shouted the headmistress again.

This technique proved successful twice in a row but in a different approach. Instead of firing it in their face, I fired it in their back, surprising them and they lost, trembling.

Third part of finals, and here I am, facing the son of a famous family company, the Reslovien, as he says in the continent of Solaria. Even after the headmistress said fight!, he still kept bragging his family company's works.

"You know?"

Of course, I still don't know.

"Our family company is one of the spearhead of economic development of our continent?"

You're half true. If you look further in the stock, income, export, import and sales reports of many company, you can clearly see that majority of the economic development causes are from our company.

"Your company is like an ant for us, did you know that? You're too little to even equal us or even achieve our footing in the most famous companies not just in our country but also in the whole world!"

Uhmm, what do you say Aqua?

He speaks nonsense Arjhay.

I nodded.

"I hate you.", Jed said in a serious tone. "You stole my popularity! You're not even handsome!", he shouted to me again. Luckily, I secretly placed a sound bubble barrier around us so they won't hear us.

"Are you not listening? I said you're stupid and ugly!", he shouted again. Really? You just have high grades because you bribe your teachers with money. And I think I'm not... ugly. I have to admit that.

"You don't even look good on that shirt.", he said before firing a laser beam at my shirt. It's my favorite color! I stared at it with disappointment. My dark blue shirt now had a burn on it's bottom left, exposing the skin on my side and showing a very small peek on my slightly muscular stomach. I didn't have a scar on it though.

I stared at him with a warningly vicious frown. "I loved the color.", I said in a hurt voice that's appropriate with my frown. He seemed amuse. Aqua already transformed. I summoned my flute, letting go a crazy amount of magic at the same time.

Jed seemed tensed, along with his snake guardian. He summoned his gun also.

I pointed my flute to him and bubble knives attacked him, cutting his shirt also, on the same spot. He fired lasers at me but before it hit me, I quickly evaded it.

He tried a cheap move, a homing type–like laser shot. Aqua shot it with glass like bubble and it deflected away. She resumed on fighting the berserk snake.

Jed seemed to plan something as he stopped attacking and just dodged. "Crap! He's charging magic.", I said. I stopped and watched him. He smiled and his hands glowed, showing that it finished charging.

He fired the compressed laser to me. It was very wide and seemed to be very destructive. Are you mocking me? I placed my left arm forward, drew a figure very fast, and executing the magic. It was a technique that creates a compact bubble for defensive purposes but I used it for containing magic this time.

Jed's laser beam was trapped inside and later disappeared. He seemed shocked, and surprised because of what I did. Who wouldn't be shocked to see their greatest attack, which cost much magic, get blocked easily?

To finish this mess, I quickly appeared in front of him, fired a charged bubble to his stomach, and sent him flying, along with his snake, thrown off by Aqua which I gave a thumbs up.

"Our winner in this month's battle... Arjhay Sezfolleria!", Ms. Veridillean announced on the microphone, making everyone escape from their trance–like state at the start of our fight.

I raised my right hand with closed fist as Aqua regained her form and jumped on my shoulder. My classmates cheered louder than everyone who cheered my victory.

And with that, I went back to the tent, and called Rina and Gwen. They came minutes later as I sat in a chair there. Rina fixed my burnt shirt while Gwen checked for any injuries on me and Aqua. Aqua had some scratches, me also.
