Chapter 3: Part 5

Arjhay's POV

"Any new findings?", I asked Arciel who was researching on his laptop. "Nothing, they're all just the same!", he replied.

"Yeah, stop searching now and start practicing your magic and maybe we'll find out something.", I exclaimed while focusing on making frost in the back of our house. We're all here, all who have second magic and practiced here, except Arlon.

He walked towards us and his green hair started to turn yellow. As of now, we all learned the basics of our second magic.

"Katelyn, I never saw your other guardian. Where is she or he?", I asked. "Oh, uhm... She kinda, you know... strolling?", she kinda stuttered.

She seems to hide something. "Okay, maybe next time?", I exclaimed. "Arjhay, congratulations on winning the battle.", Jerome said.

"Thanks, man!", I said. "I heard your conversation inside the bubble." Rina suddenly exclaimed.

"Oh, you heard it?", I said. "Yes, he keeps bragging their family company. If he only knew you're a Zweig.", Rina scoffed. Yes, they knew we're Zweig because our family are close to each other. "Yes, he'll shut up after.", Aqua agreed.

"Who do you think are the top ten students this school year?", Erliane asked suddenly. "Of course, Andrei will be the first again this time.", Jerimuel exclaimed. "Yes, nobody can beat him, I think.", I added, knowing that Arciel is one intelligent person, too.

"Of course, but I bet Jona will come second, again.", Illiana said.

"So, our honor students are the following.", Mrs. Floria announced in the front as she conducts the meeting on Monday afternoon. Thankfully, I ranked fifth out of the ten honor students of the whole tenth grade SC.

"May I call on the students in my class who have a place on the ranking with their parents or guardians to stand here to be recognized.", Mrs. Gloria exclaimed. Jona came first, being the second honor student.

Next was Kelian who placed fourth and near him is me. Alfel placed seventh on the ranking and Sief being the ninth. At least Ms. Yuu wore a simple casual dress.

"Are you Mrs. Sezfolleria?", asked Alfel's grandmother. "No ma'am, I'm just Prince Arjhay's guardian. Mrs. Sezfolleria is busy right now so I replaced her in this meeting.", Ms. Yuu replied.

I stood in their front so I can hear their conversation. "Is he anemic? He's so white.", I heard a parent ask in the back. "Who Arjhay? No mom, he's just white.", replied a voice that seems like Eljake's.

After the meeting, many parents decided to go home. "Oh Arjhay! I forgot to thank you on your gift yesterday!", Jenrich shouted.

"Yes, do you like it's color?", I asked. "Of course! Ill wear the shoes tomorrow!", he replied.

"Nice shoes you got there, Jenrich!", Eljake exclaimed while looking at Jenrich's shoes.

"I received this from Arjhay last Sunday."

"That's the newest design of Shoeix, isn't it?", Arsen, the shoe-lover in class exclaimed suddenly, staring at the black and red rubber shoes with obviously a remarkable design.

"Yes.", I replied for Jenrich. "Just ordered it last Friday.", I added. "But, it's so expensive!", Arsen remarked.

Jerimuel gave him a he's-a-Sezdolleria-kid look, backed up with Erliane's he's-rich-so-he-can-buy-it stare. "You're stupid.", exclaimed Al, Arsen's guardian.

"How much?", he asked.

"Five thousand Gems."

"Really?"

"Of course."

"I'm jealous."

"I'll try to give you one on your birthday, but I won't promise."

"Yes! Will expect.", he cheered, getting back to his group. "Guys, I'm really curious about the Zweigfleirdene.", Eljake exclaimed suddenly.

"Shhh, you know it's an unspoken rule never to mention that!", Illiana whispered to us.

I flinched at the remark but it came out like a cough. "Really, I always got intrigued by them.", Eljake added.

"Me too. They never show their faces in public.", Illiana added. "I thought you're– nevermind. I heard some said they're just ugly so they hide.", Erliane said.

I tried not to laugh but it's hard to contain so, I laughed. "What's so funny?", Jerimuel asked.

"Hahaha, nothing... just– hahaha.", I tried stopping it but it won't stop. Ugly faces?! Oh really? Hahahaha...

"On the other side, they may be a family full of handsome and beautiful members.", Erliane added, not paying attention to my reaction.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I–"

I trailed off, remembering the caution. "I mean we had a business transaction once with them but only a representative faced us.", I continued, not giving them time to process what I said earlier.

"Oh? Anyway, they say the Zweigs are sometimes affiliated with the underworld.", Jerimuel said.

"Underworld? Didn't they know that the Zweigs contribute a large part of maintaining the world in peace and making the people have a nice living?", defended Eljake. I looked at Aqua who winked and I smiled.

The discussion continued for several more minutes. But I agree that it feels a little weird when you're friends are talking and discussing about a group or family they didn't know you belong.

Someone! Bring me an air con! I mentally shouted as I sat in front of my classmates discussing all about their vacations on Wednesday morning.

"Your turning pink, are you alright?", asked Ercera when she noticed my face becoming pink.

"Of course! It's just hooooottt."

"Next month is the start of summer... figures.", Cire, her guardian, which I was desperately trying not to hug, remarked.

"How about a resorts vacation?", Alfel suggested. "It's too costly! You know we have no extra money.", Jona retorted.

After Jona said that, I smelled something very familiar. I know this smell but I can't remember what it is!

I sniffed in my surroundings until I found the source. It was from Irralyn.

She was giving something to her cat guardian, Del. It was a color violet ball, the size of a tennis ball. As I sniffed some more air, I'm sure that the smell originates from it.

And before I knew it, I looked in the dark eyes of Ercera then everything and my mind went blank.
